That's one mean system, Cno. Awsome looking.
Just waiting on your pics now PP
How can honestly competete with Cno's set-up. I've wires hanging out everywhere, and the whole system looks tacky in comparison.
S'not a competition! Part of the fun is seeing a system we've read about for so long, which applies at least as much to your system as to Cno's
If I thought putting up my system would stop others, I would never have done it. I personally enjoy seeing what other people have.
Talking of competition, there are double "brownie points" for anyone sad enough to recognize which film is being played here:
Cno, it is purely because I genuinely think my system, aesthetically, isn't worthy of yours or others. Or put another way, I would be slightly embarassed to show my mish mash. Yours has the "ooo factor", where mine would have the "oh factor".
(Please don't feel bad because of my hi-fi insecurities).

What distance are your speakers? They look about 7' is that close?
BTW, I will definitely post some pics no later than Tuesday, then I'll beat it to the pub.
The front speakers are about 6.5ft centre to centre, which is OK, but I would ideally like them a touch wider, and further into the room (with the right one, less close to the corner)...but compromise is nearly always a consideration in a domestic situation.
That Ben fellow ain't 'arf pushy!
Great system. Very tidy!! Love the look of it all and the fact it will be a brilliant music system too. I completely agree with your comment about this forum not being a competition. All the ideas for my system came from the system thread here.
Really like your settup though, could do with a bit more space like you said already. Domestic situations though!!
Film maybe: inception, fugitive or captain America? I am sad Just trying to think of films with that big piping in it!

Nicely done there CnoEvil....the set up and also the pics that you put up. Those are huge rear speakers...but I bet it gives out a satisfying surround experience.
Its not a typical mix of kit you have there...MF + ARCAM + Linn....BUt knwiing you from your write ups...I am sure you have done extensive demo-ing to reach the set up you have now.
Congrats and enjoy....

Do you leave the grills on or off? Personally, I think it looks better off.

John, I appreciate the kind comments.
Re the film - It's a sci-fi film released in 1998. That particular scene is in a sort of giant poly-tunnel, with swarming bees!
Did the budget not stretch to a title?
No signature worth mentioning...
Looks like The X-Files movie to me....

Those rears are huge and only look right in rooms with high ceilings (11 ft in my case). They are the previous generation Ref Di-Poles which I got new off ebay, for a fraction of what they were. The present di-poles are much more user friendly.
There is more synergy than you might imagine between AVR600 and AMS 35i, as the Class G amps in the former give it a very Class A sound.
The Linn is the most musical digital streamer that I've heard to date, so works a treat with the MF.
Thanks for the feedback
Hi Lee.....The grills only get removed for critical listening (and they do sound better that way)
Who needs a title (see the post after yours).....the budget won't stretch any further...not even to a single speaker spike!!
Do you need the extra "Brownie Points?"...well you've just earned yourself a merit badge.
Did you get it without the clue?
Lovely system, by the way
