RE: tannoy dc6tse speakers

YES, it would. But... all depends on room-acoustics when it comes to speaker-size. :?

Also this CA & Tannoy combination will have a quite overprojected soundstage with the upper-mids frequencys. (depending on style/sound of music played)

Could sound really great but perhaps not so mellow if you prefer that. Wink

I for one like my Tannoys soundstage with movies/concerts in my livingroom, but will happily try some Spendor S3e for just a little more mellow sound when playing music.

Depends on how loud you like your music. The only sure way of knowing is to dem the combo. I would also look at Rotel with B&W. Great match.

BTW, what equipment do you currently own? I've read your previous threads and it was Cambridge previously.

What is your budget? Not being nosey but it'll give all us a better idea to get the best match.

DC6T SE speakers can be a

DC6T SE speakers can be a little bright which some people don't like. I owned a pair for two years and initially found them too bright having positioned them toed in to the listening position as you normally would.

With experimentation, I found that pointing them flat-forward, if you know what I mean, balanced the sound beautifully and allowed all of their positive attributes (coherence and soundstaging) to really shine. I now have a pair of Precision 6.2 and a pair of 6.1 as my fronts and rears in the sitting room 5.1 setup and likewise they are not toed in at all.

I ran mine with a Marantz Pearl-lite and then a Cambridge Audio 851A and couldn't tell any difference in tone to be honest.

60w will be just fine but you have to find time to audition, they have a very different presentation to the Tannoys, and you really should attempt to hear them in your room. Personally I think it's a fine combo.
