Roksan Caspian CD player

A friend passed me a CD player he's no longer using, saying I can treat it as my own. He didn't tell me what model the player was. All wrapped up, I felt the player was heavy. Upwrapping it reveals the Roksan Caspian M series-1 CD player.
Can anyone advise me on a matching amp and speakers? I know this CD player is not cheap but my budget for the amp/speakers is around 1000 pounds for both together (contradicting the rule of thirds). Tell me if this is possible or how far I have to increase my budget. I listen mostly to classical. Andrew may be the one who can advise. Cheers.
