Hi there,

I'm after a CD player to hook up to my system, which comprises:

Cambridge 540A, Monitor Audio BR2s

Probably looking to spend £150-£200. Obviously, having trawled through the WHF website, I can see which models are the best rated in this price bracket, but which do you think would go best with my particular set-up?

I guess my main options are Cambridge 340C, NAD C515BEE, Marantz CD5001 or 5003, Cambridge DacMagic, or  Cambridge 540C.

Any advice greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

What do you use as your source at the moment?

I'm currently using an iPod, connected through a Belkin cable to the back of the amp....

David I see you've mentioned Marantz as an option. I certainly known this goes well with the Monitor Audio speakers. If you're interested in a Marantz CD6002 within your budget check out  http://www.glasgowaudio.com/06-2nd-hand.html.

Re: Budget CD Player

Thanks for that.

I'll bear it in mind....

A level above where I was aiming, but as you point out, it's in budget still.
