NEWS: TEAC sticks to stereo for two-zone receiver

Just in case you thought every receiver these days came with surround-sound built-in, TEAC is launching the new AG-980, a £279 stereo model complete with two-zone multiroom capability, including separate source selection and volume control for both sets of outputs.

The new model has a built-in FM/AM tuner, and is capable of delivering 100W per channel when running in single-zone mode, or 35W into each channel when using the dual-zone facility.

It has four line-ins and one set of audio outputs for a recorder, and can even drive a third zone via pre-out sockets, which have variable output, with the addition of an external amplifier.

There are also RS-232C and 12V trigger connections for use in custom installations, and the receiver comes with its own remote handset.
