Sky Player to be added to Humax Freeview HD set-top boxes

Sky Player, BskyB's online TV service, will shortly become available on Humax's range of Freeview HD set-top boxes. It's already confirmed for a number of other devices.
First to get the web-based TV service is the recently-launched Humax HD-FOX T2. Sky Player will also be available on the forthcoming Humax Freeview HD PVR (personal video recorder) with 500GB hard drive, due out later this year.
Sky Player offers Sky customers the opportunity to access a wide range of live TV channels as well as a video-on-demand service online, with content from a range of broadcasters.
Graham North, commercial director of Humax, says: "The addition of Sky Player on our Freeview HD boxes ensures Humax is positioned to offer consumers an exciting way to experience digital TV, with great content and a range of home networking and content sharing features."
Sky says its web TV player is confirmed for launch on Fetch TV, Cello IP-enabled TVs, 3View and now Humax Freeview set-top boxes.

Surely if you're on Freesat then it makes more sense to get a sky box and subscription than to retrofit Sky Player onto Freesat? Or does Sky Player offer any non subscription content?
I can only imagine the consumer confusion if Freesat boxes offer subscription services from Sky over broadband connections.
Still waiting for Panasonic to implement iPlayer on my Freesat plasma
According to Humax,
"Although Humax has implemented the iPlayer on its range of Freesat boxes, a hardware upgrade would be required to deliver the Sky service, which in any case would require the approval of Freesat."
So it isn't just a case of firmware upgrades on existing kit.
Also sounds like that even if future Freesat kit has the right hardware, there will still be licensing issues to address.
Will the box be wifi.
I can't see why not its only software that allows sky player work , fingers crossed
Is there any indication that this may become backwards compatable with the Foxsat HDR?
