RE: Samsung UE46F8000

JL Matched the Total Digital deal in the £30 delivery. £1,247 total. Just gonna wait until tomorrow to see if the Electronic Empire pm is approved. If it is then I'll be purchasing this monster for £1,199 all in. Thanks all

@MrW @SiUK Thanks for the info guys. Submitting a price match now as per your advice. Interesting info re the hard drive also.

@SiUK Out of interest, when you bought this TV from JL via their price match, take it they still gave you the free 5 year warranty anyway and the £150 Cash Back offer on Samsung purchases within 28 days? #whatadeal!

@Dinglebin  Wow great news!  This is such fantastic value for the best LED TV ever!  Just looked at Electronic Empire and it says £1216 in store price inclusive of free delivery so even better!  How do you get it to £1,199?

The 5 year guarantee is on every tv regardless.  So yeah. The Samsung cashback deal has to be applied for after purchase.  You fill in a form and send it to Samsung and Samsung send out the cheque,  not John Lewis. You have to provide proof of purchase for the tv and the second Samsung product...which has to be equal to or greater than the cashback amount. So you need to buy another Samsung product costing more than £150 to get the cash back from Samsung and within 28 days of purchase of the tv.

@Lynne - Arrh the price was 1,199 when I submitted the pm on Monday. I took a screen dump of it in case the price increased. I suspect JL will only honour the latest price of 1,216. For the sake of 17 I won't even bother. Now what to spend the 150 cash back on? Any thoughts anyone. I can't decide between a Blu ray player (the 4k ready one at 179) or a tablet at 139.

Thought so. Thanks for confirming.

@Dinglebin  Ah I see. Their price must fluctuate somewhat. Thanks. Just submitted a price match against Electronic Empire's current £1,216.00 price. Will let you all know if I get a reply. Thinking a Samsung-compatible tablet would be a useful purchase using the £150 Cash Back to be used alongside the tv.

Hi

No it doesn't work like that, you have 28 days after price match to try and beat it again, John Lewis will do it.

Electronic Empire doesn't work because it is a clearance website, you need to use Total Digital's website and it will definitely work.

You have 28 days to return it if you don't want it any longer.

Warranty is transferable if you decide to sell it in the future.

Home cinema system: Panasonic 50VT65 (THX calibrated), Pioneer Bdp-lx71, Pioneer Vsx-lx70, B&W FPM Series, B&W PV1.

Gadgets: iPad 4 and iPhone 4s.  Headphones: B&O H6.  Dab radio: Roberts Dreamtime.

I assume JL add on the total digital delivery fee of £30 based upon the postcode you provide when you submit the pm. I bet if you use a Birmingham post code they don't add on the delivery fee! Lesson learnt for next time. My lovely wife has just purchased me a sonos playbar inc free bridge for my 40th next weekend. Can life get any better!

I've had 2 price matches accepted against Totaldigital, and neither of them had the £30 added on, and I live nowhere near Birmingham!

Wow! JL just priced matched again. Yippeeeee! Sorry, sorry, I'll pull myself together! No I won't  :cheer: The Samsung has now cost me less the last 47 inch Panasonic that went back! That's pleased me immensely (I know I know, not obvious is it) and as the ISA I closed to buy all this gear is almost fully burned out it's nice getting a bit back ...Now I can afford a Blu-Ray film, a single malt and a box of chocolates for Xmas as well     Then it's back to normal boiling worms and eating grass Wink
