No, I am not joking, I was watching during the day on day mode and I closed the curtains when it was getting dark and the night mode had already been switched on!  This always happens too.   :). I can't work it out?   :?  In the morning I switch it and it's fine but at night it seems to have a mind of its own!

Are you sure you hadn't switched from the day to night calibration whilst watching, then forgotten later that you'd made this switch?

hi gel, after having your tv calibrated ,how do you feel about the whole experiance was as good as you hoped,do you feel the outlay was worth it,and would you recomend having it done to anyone else,i know i,m becoming part of a dying bread of pioneer clan lol, although i still love the picture ,would you say it's worth having done or put the money towards a new tv.cheers david

p.s would love to see some more picys:grin:

Hi David, it is a good question, I think before some of my pictures were oversaturated and looked a bit fake at times, but now they are all good.  £185 is a lot of money though, the colours aren't over bright now and as a result blacks look really good.  The picture also looks clearer.  Whites are really white too.  You also know the picture is the way it is intended to be.

The TV panel should also now last longer, which is good.  I am glad that it's done I would recommend it to be done but if your not crazy about your TV perhaps you might not notice the differences so much though.  They are little and subtle.  I think that is the best way to describe my experience.  Just got to keep my fingers crossed now that my TV doesn't go wrong.

If I had a Pioneer I am not sure.  The Pioneer's are still great and if you are happy with it possibly.  It depends how long you intend on keeping the Pioneer.  I intend keeping my Panasonic 7 years or so (hopefully) so it is worth it.  Your TV is getting a bit old now but if you definitely plan on keeping it a long time then possibly.  I seem to be enjoying all my Blu-rays again and normal TV.  No pictures seem to look bad.

I will try and do some more pictures.   Smile

I think your TV's fine, Gel.

You've perhaps been switching between Pro 1 and Pro 2 settings while it's all new.

I experimented similarly after my TV was first calibrated. I lost track of whether I was watching Pro 1 or Pro 2 a few times, too.  Smile

Yep, the TV is fine.   I just got to figure out what I am doing just before I go to switch to night mode.  It is possibly as you say I am doing it already without realising it!   Smile

Okay, I have just gone to switch to day mode and guess what?  Already done!  What the hell is going on?  I think I should probably ask Jules now, I can't work it out!  The TV is fine but this is really confusing!

Gel Boy, With regards to your Ambient Light Sensor. You say its Off? Just to recap does the word Off  appear in Settings? if so Ambient Sensor is Active/Switched On.  If the word On appears this means the Ambient Sensor is Off/inactive.  Smile
