Well was it worth it……

Big yes, everything sounds better all round.

Soundstage vastly improved, clarity much better. Everything’s clearer

Very happy

Very nice and it looks classy ... bit like me x

Yep,

Looks great, I found exactly the same improvment, with my quest upgrade. better clarity and soundstage.

What was the finish that you chose, mine was zebrano to match my zebrano SA1s.............

Walnut to match stand and speakers

Can't believe how much better it sounds

Next the speakers :rockout:

Have you tried, with and with out, the 'heavy puck record clamp' and removing the 'perspex cover'?

Yes decided it sounds better with cover off.

Puck depends on records some better some no real difference with it.

Prefer the sound of acrylic platter naked compared with glass and felt mat.

Looks good to me.  Has the Sub Platter damping kit arived Andy?

I believe 'Inspire' recomend thier 3mm acylic 'platter mat' on top of the acrylic patter??? . . . that one puzzels me :?

My system uses the glass platter + 3mm acrylic patter mat, I prefer the slightly sharper sound this produces, but then, I'm not using the Inspire plinth . . . yet????  Recomended it a time or two . . . do as I say, not as I do . . .  Wink

What's going through my mind; Inspire upgrade as per yours, . . . plus the metal sub platter/rubby bearing, Audio Mods arm and my Sumiko Pearwood Celibration cartridge . . . food for my drooling brain :O

Sub-platter kit in post.

Will look into acrylic platter matt, but at the mo sounds better to me without felt one.

Very happy with the sound and having moved my speakers ever so slightly more away from wall now 9" clear( and she

hasn't moaned) no bass boom (this was only on certain recordings) so will listen enjoy and think about speakers.

RE: Inspire Upgrade

I may be wrong Andy . . . I believe Dany Cobalt has the Inspire with Vinyl platter and 3mm Vinyl mat, perhaps he can shed some light?

The SP kit might help with the base boom?

Cheers CJSF, bass boom seems to have gone, a mixture of speaker placement and TT upgrade.

Happy now, had a whole day listening to vinyl. Going to be knackered tonight at work tho.

Looking forward to seeing what difference the sub plater damp kit makes.

LOL

Will do just waiting for it to arrive.

I'm interested in a metal sub platter as well.

This one has some good reviews over on Vinylengine
