NEWS: Keep a watch on your music with Sony Ericsson

With more and more people storing their mobile music collections on their mobile phones, Sony Ericsson has launched a whole stack of new accessories for its range of mobiles – including a new watch to enable you to control music playback.

Sony Mbw 150 Music Watch

The MBW-150 watch comes in three styles: the Classic, with a leather strap, the Executive (ugh!) with stainless steel strap, and the rather James Bond-esque Music version seen above.

All three watches have been developed with Fossil, are waterproof to 30m and connect with the phone via Bluetooth.

That done, you can make and accept calls from your wrist, using a Bluetooth headset, and also control music playback. The phone vibrates to signal an incoming call, and the OLED display panel above the six o'clock position will show numbers, and also track/artist details.

The watches are expected to cost around £170 for the Classic and Music versions, and about £200 for the Executive.

Sony Fm Transmitter Mmr 70Sony's also adding an FM transmitter device to connect your music phone to your car stereo. The MMR-70 (left) plugs into the connector on the base of the phone, and you can then tune your car radio – or indeed any other FM radio – in to it to receive music from the phone. It's powered from the phone, weighs just 9g, and should be available soon.

Sony Music Desk Stand Mds 65 1

Completing the new range is a table speaker device for the Sony Ericsson phone range. The MDS-65 Music Desk Stand can run on its own batteries while travelling or from the mains, and recharges your phone while it's playing. A rotating connector ensures compatibility with all current Sony Ericsson phones, and again it's on sale soon.
