Mechanically Marvellous...if a little redundant these days

I've seen a lot of National / Panasonic / Technics stuff over the years, not sure how I missed this one.

Back in the early 80s I had a

Back in the early 80s I had a relative who was a manager at a local B&Q. I went in the offices with him once, they had one of these things, piping non-stop elevator muzak through the store's audio system for hours on end on repeat. I imagine it was eventually replaced with a multidisc CD player.

School friend had a National

School friend had a National Panasonic music centre (hand-me-down from his parents). Can't remember what it sounded like but he kept it for years.
