Wharfedale Reva 4 for the Tannoy xt8f

I have now the Tannoy xt8f, but will change the speakers. The tannoy's are fantastic speakers, fantastic bass, but esspecially with my music, symfonic metal like Nightwish, too bright. Long, long ago i had a Wharfedale speaker (for 30 years). But in my country Holland there are no dealers. You can only order on internet. The Reva 4 looks very good, but how does it sounds? Does anyone knows? Otherwise maybe a Dynaudio excite x34. I have a MF m5si amp.

No one is going to be able to

No one is going to be able to say how the speakers will sound in your room. Does your country have a 'cooling off' period for online purchases? If so, perhaps you will be able to buy them and return them if they are not to your taste, providing you return them in as-new condition.

Yes, i can order on the

Yes, i can order on the internet and can try 14 days. I 'am afraid it's the only way. Even Dynaudio isn't listenable in my area. The dealers here stopped with Dynaudio because they find it overpriced. There is a dealer on 150 km!

.

If you have a room issue, particularly with regards to reflections/brightness, give the Amphion speakers a try.

if u have hifi mates around

if u have hifi mates around you, i would suggest to try different cables. while it does not change everything, a different cable can turn down the harshness in the high frequencies.

Have already tried several

Have already tried several (Van den Hul) cables with the Tannoy. I will also listen to the new Kef Q 950. There is a dealer here. The new R serie comes in september.

If Van Den Hul doesn’t tame your brightness issue, no cable will.

Loneranger has had the last laugh on you.
