Has anyone heard of or even heard Extended Resolution Compact Discs?
Here is something about them: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Extended_R … mpact_Disc
Until yesterday I had never heard of them.
Listen to the music, not the hifi.
I think they are even less successful than HDCD (of which I have two). Not sure where they were sold, perhaps not in the UK but the format looks like it sort of took off even if it didn't fly very far:
Mac Mini - USB - M-DAC+ - XLR - Primare Pre32 - XLR - A34.2 - Quadral Chromium Style 8. CA azur 751BD. oak Podium rack, B&W P5 Wireless, iPhone 6s
I did find a USA website that sells them for a price most are about $30, there are some on Amazon uk which is where I saw it. One Chinese record label seem to be using this format for recording some albums.
It is also known as XRCD.
Ah, HDCD. I must have a handful too, but I only know because my old player has a little light to tell me.
ERCD is/was new to me too.

Michell Tecnodec/Rega/Grado record player, Marantz SA14s1 SE SACD player, Primare I32 amplifier, Hitachi FT-5500 mark I and II tuners, Nakamichi ZX-7 cassette, SBTouch streamer, Chromecast audio, ATC SCM40 spkrs.
Not sure I come across ERCD's but I have a few BSCD2 or Blu-Ray spec CD's. Nice recordings, a bit like SACD quality.
