Cyber Monday and Black Friday might be over and done with for another year, but the deals haven't quite dried up yet.

If you missed out on a Cyber Monday TV deal or are tempted by one last impulse buy, then we have the TV for you.

The 43-inch TCL P7K was already about as affordable as TVs can get, but it is still on sale for £229 at Appliances Direct.

That's right – a whole TV for £229, perfect for a second room setup. This model is now out of stock at several retailers, so grab it while you can!

The TCL P7K offers good picture quality for the money, with an impressively bright, colourful and dynamic presentation. Add in excellent HDR format and streaming app support, and you have far more than you'd expect at this exceptionally low price.

Don't be put off by the TCL P7K's low price – we put the set through its paces and found it is far better than it has any right to be for so little money.

The use of Quantum Dot technology results in more vibrancy and volume than you’d normally see on such a cheap TV, plus above-par brightness with both SDR and HDR content compared to the vast majority of TVs in its budget class.

"Putting the finishing touches to the 43P7K’s mostly winning pictures is some seriously impressive sharpness and detail – at least with native 4K sources," our TCL P7k review reads.

"This even holds true with action scenes and sports footage, thanks to the way TCL’s screen avoids the smearing behind and lost resolution over moving objects that is such a common feature of budget TVs."

All four main HDR formats are supported: HDR10, HLG, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision. Not even all premium TVs can boast that!

Google TV includes the usual big streaming options too, including BBC iPlayer, ITVX and Channel 4 catch-up apps. There's voice control thanks to Google Assistant.

Gaming support is also solid with ALLM, VRR and a seriously impressive 10.5ms of input lag. A 60Hz screen means that 4K/120Hz gaming is off the cards, however.

As to be expected from such a cheap TV, the TCL comes with a fairly basic 2 x 10W speaker system. It manages to spread sound pretty well with decent clarity, and it's distortion-free if you don't push it too hard. Of course, if you can, we'd consider pairing it with one of the best budget soundbars we've tested.

As far as cheap TVs go, the TCL P7K offers a seriously compelling package for such a low price. Get it for £229 at Appliances Direct while stocks last.

This Sonos soundbar deal proves you don't always have to act fast on Black Friday to save some serious money

Black Friday may be over, but that doesn't mean all the best deals are gone. If you look hard enough, there's still some excellent discounts floating around – and I've spotted a great one.

For just £335 at Amazon, the Sonos Beam Gen 2, which just so happens to be one of the best soundbars we've ever tested and a What Hi-Fi? Award winner for 2025, represents excellent value.

While it's not quite the £327 we saw during Amazon Prime's Big Deal Days, it's still a lovely £114 discount that is available on both the Black or White model, so take your pick!

The Sonos Beam Gen 2 is the best entry-level Dolby Atmos soundbar and does everything you want exceptionally well for the money. Warm, refined sound, streaming smarts and effective handling of Dolby Atmos, all now with 25% off.

The Sonos Beam Gen 2 is a deeply impressive soundbar, taking everything the original Beam had to offer and adding genuinely convincing Dolby Atmos without changing the overall design or adding dedicated upward-firing drivers.

Instead, it's all done through clever processing using psychoacoustic HRTF (head-related transfer function) technology to deliver a sense of height using two of the unit's five front-facing drivers.

So, if space and budget are limited, there isn't a better virtual Dolby Atmos soundbar that we'd recommend.

During testing, we paired the Beam Gen 2 with TVs ranging from 43 inches to 65 inches, and our expert testers confirmed that "it enhances the cinematic scale and viewing experience".

The Dolby Atmos is really the headline feature for the Beam Gen 2, handling the format better than any similarly priced soundbar, producing spacious sound with good tracking of audio objects.

In terms of audio formats, the Beam Gen 2 supports stereo PCM, Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby TrueHD, Dolby Atmos (both the Digital+ and TrueHD versions), multichannel PCM and Dolby Multichannel PCM.

Decoding for DTS digital surround has now been added to this and other Sonos products but this sadly doesn't extend to DTS:X.

But it's also worth discussing the Beam Gen 2's streaming capabilities, which are plentiful. We're talking seamless integration into a wireless multiroom system via the Sonos S2 app, which also provides access to Trueplay room calibration technology and a two-band EQ.

Having wi-fi means you can also stream to the Beam Gen 2 from a handheld device using Apple AirPlay 2, and Spotify Connect is built-in too. Support for Amazon Music Ultra HD audio (for both the Beam Gen 2 and other Sonos models) is also now available and gives access to lossless 24-bit/48kHz tracks as well as Dolby Atmos Music.

And at a lovely price of £335 at Amazon, you can save some serious cash whilst still being able to experience why our testers said: "The Beam Gen 2 not only lives up to the high bar set by its predecessor but exceeds it by a margin that more than justifies its new feature set and higher cost." Roberts' tiny Revival Petite 2 radio is one of those products you can't help but fall in love with. It is adorably cute and small: its footprint is no bigger than an iPhone 16, it's about half the height of a Dr Pepper can, and your earbuds case will comfortably sit on top of it.

And it's lovely to listen to as well. From gentle Radio 4 programmes and BBC 6 Music tunes to your audiobooks or playlists streamed over Bluetooth, the What Hi-Fi? Award winning Petite 2 delivers everything with clarity, richness and punch that far belies its dinky dimensions.

This little DAB radio is one that I've been keeping my eye on this entire Black Friday season, hoping for a chunky discount – at least £10 or £20 off – so I could recommend it to everyone.

But as Cyber Monday starts closing in on its last hours, I must claim defeat, as the only real saving I've found on the Roberts Revival Petite 2 radio is equally tiny. Just £7.45, to be precise. You can find it for £91.55 at John Lewis, and what's even worse, this meagre saving is only on the Duck Egg finish.

A lovely little DAB+/FM radio with Bluetooth, 20 hours battery life and a 3.5mm headphone output. The Petite 2 is a joy to use, and delivers a richly detailed, dynamic and clear sound, while you can put this tiny radio anywhere. A flexible, very likeable unit that's worth every penny.

All the other six finishes are available at their full price of £99, so this colourway is your only choice if you want to save a little bit of money on one of the best little DAB/FM radios with Bluetooth that you can carry around with you anywhere in the house.

And you really can plonk it everywhere: on the windowsill, at the corner of your desk, on a bedside table, on a bookshelf, in the garden, or even chuck it in your bag – no matter how small your space, the Petite 2 radio will fit anywhere.

Battery life is a considerable 20 hours, you can charge it up via USB-C, and it even comes with a 3.5mm headphone socket so you can listen at night in peace. You can save 20 presets in total (10 DAB/DAB+, 10 FM), while Bluetooth pairs swiftly and with no fuss to our smartphone and laptop.

In our review, we said: "It’s a lively, rhythmically engaging sound that has a surprising amount of weight and punch to it, given the unit's size. The way it handles voices is a highlight, sounding clean, solid and detailed."

We're not expecting big scale or lashings of deep bass from such a petite unit, but there is ample solidity and richness to the detail, along with confident dynamics and toe-tapping rhythm to keep our attention hooked.

Is it a great Cyber Monday deal? Not really. Is it a great product? Absolutely. Deal or no deal, the Roberts radio is a well-designed, great-sounding product that's lovely to use and listen to. So even if I haven't been able to find a great Black Friday/Cyber Monday deal on it, I would still wholeheartedly recommend it at full price. And you can pick the colour you want without having to restrict your choices.

If you do, however, want to save a few pennies and aren't fussed about the colours, then this titchy deal of £91.55 at John Lewis and at Amazon is worth a gander.

However, we've just spotted that this 2025 Award-winning turntable has now dropped even further for Cyber Monday.

The Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2 is now available for just £527 at Sevenoaks. That's £12 cheaper than its Black Friday deal price, and a good £72 off its £599 launch price.

The new Debut Evo 2 is an updated version of the five-star Debut Carbon Evo, boasting new additions such as a heavy aluminium platter that has a dense ring of TPE (Thermoplastic Elastomer) to reduce unwanted resonances. The 8.6-inch tonearm is also now mounted on a new precision-milled aluminium block with low-friction bearings, and a Pick-It MM Evo cartridge is now fitted to the deck.

Most importantly, do all these new upgrades result in a pleasing sound? We're happy to report that it does indeed.

"We spin albums from Nick Cave, Portishead, Nirvana and Fleetwood Mac, and what strikes us is just how immediately likeable the sound is," our Pro-Ject Debut Evo 2 review reads. There's no Bluetooth, USB connectivity or automatic operation here, so this is very much a purist turntable. The ten finishes on offer mean you can complete the traditional aesthetic with a darker hue, or mix things up with a splash of colour.

There's also no phono stage built in, so if you need one to complete the system, we recommend taking a look at the Award-winning Rega Fono MM Mk5.

Black Friday has given way to Cyber Monday, and while some of the best deals from this weekend have dried up, there is one home cinema bargain that remains, and it happens to be one of the best from the world of home cinema.

The Award-winning Hisense PL2 can still be found at a record-low price of £959 at a few retailers, saving you £1040 from the original price. You'll want to head to Richer Sounds, Sevenoaks Sound and Vision or Peter Tyson to score this saving.

Amazon, on the other hand, has it listed for £1199; that's £240 more than the retailers listed above. Avoid paying over the odds this Cyber Monday by ditching Amazon if you're thinking of picking up this five-star projector.

The Hisense PL2 ultra short-throw projector is a What Hi-Fi? Award winner for 2025 for its competitive pricing, excellent features and balanced picture. Any home cinema fan can enjoy a 150-inch screen experience without having to sacrifice the entire living room for a TV that size.

Capable of beaming an image up to 150 inches onto your projector screen or, in a pinch, your wall, the PL2 offers up a feast of impressive picture and sound credentials.

This UST utilises Hisense's X-Fusion Laser Technology, which is capable of producing a bright 2700 lumen image, with punchy and vibrant colours to match. Despite this, we considered the PL2 to be balanced and consistent in our full review, and the 4K resolution means details are sharp.

Dolby Vision and HDR10+ are both supported, which is appreciated as many projectors include neither, and Dolby Atmos is featured via the 30W speaker system, as well as via HDMI eARC.

Better still, Hisense includes its comprehensive Vidaa streaming platform on board, meaning you won't need to plug anything into the PL2 if streaming is your preferred method of watching.

The only area where the PL2 lags slightly behind is its gaming specifications. HDMI 2.1 is technically on board, but the projector can only reach 60Hz at 4K, or 120Hz at 1080p.

There is also an included game mode, which is automatically applied when the projector detects a signal from a gaming source. Ultimately, at this price, we find that small gaming-related setback to be far from a dealbreaker.

At its launch price of £1999, we already considered this projector to offer huge value for money. However, at just £959 at Richer Sounds – a discount of £1040 – this becomes one of the best value home cinema deals of the year.

The Sony WF-C700N are former Product of the Year winners for their incredible value, packing in ANC, 7.5 hours of battery life, supreme comfort and sensational sound quality. If you're not familiar with the Sony WF-C700N, what have you been doing for the last few years? These puppies won Product of the Year in both 2023 and 2024, and were only usurped as the best noise-canceling earbuds at their price by their successors, the WF-C710N.

The all-important sound also impressed us in our Sony WF-C700N review, with the bass being a particular standout. We said: "It’s not just the weight, depth and solidity of the notes that impresses, it’s also the layers of detail the Sony uncovers and their ability to paint the notes with believable texture."

They're small for earbuds but remarkably comfortable, with a subtle textured surface that ensures they stay in with ease, whether you’re doing a five-kilometre run or a five-minute walk to the shops.

Active noise cancellation at £55 is also not to be sniffed at, while other features include Bluetooth Multipoint, a companion app, and Adaptive Sound Control ,which means the buds can automatically switch listening modes depending on your location.

Sony's DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) can upscale low-res digital audio files to higher quality, while there's 7.5 hours of battery life per charge (with the case providing another 7.5 hours).

A newer model, the Sony WF-C710N, are also on sale for £75 at Amazon and well worth considering. The WF-C710N boast better ANC and a longer battery life than the WF-C700N – you can see the full differences in our Sony WF-C710N vs WF-C700N guide.

However, the Sony WF-C700N for £55 at Sony is an absolute steal. And it could be your last chance to buy a classic.

The price of Marshall's Dolby Atmos soundbar hasn't budged for Black Friday – but there's a five-star alternative that costs £180 less

If you don't have the space or budget for a multi-speaker system in your living room, investing in a soundbar may suit your needs perfectly well. And, for those wanting an immersive audio performance that can take the cinematic experience even further, choosing a soundbar with Dolby Atmos support is a great option.

With a range of different Atmos soundbars on offer, it can be difficult to know which ones are worth buying. Take the Marshall Heston 120, for instance, a 5.1.2-channel soundbar that marked the brand's first leap into the category. The soundbar launched at £900, placing it neatly in the upper end of the soundbar market.

It certainly takes a different approach in terms of design compared to the majority of other models, sporting retro-looking knobs that are certainly taking a leaf from the brand's rock and roll roots.

There is HDMI eARC for connection to your TV, plus a dedicated HDMI input, and it can pass through 4K/120Hz signals.

Those specifications certainly sound promising, but when we got the model into our test room, the Heston 120 didn't impress with its audio performance. There is a good tonal balance and cohesiveness, and a decent low-level dynamic subtlety so that voices can retain their intended emotional resonance.

But these low-level dynamics do not handle dramatic shifts very well, resulting in an overall flat and uninteresting performance. We say in the review: "It’s a soundbar that is capable of going quite loud, but it doesn’t seem either willing or able to produce the volume changes necessary to deliver real drama. In fact, we even wondered if Night mode had been activated inadvertently (it hadn’t)."

That all resulted in a three-star review from us, meaning Marshall's first soundbar didn't manage to make a meaningful mark. And, despite being released for a number of months, we haven't seen any discounts on the Marshall bar for Black Friday.

But don't worry! There's another Dolby Atmos soundbar available right now that we gave a glowing five-star review. Plus, there's a great discount for Cyber Monday, which makes this model even more tempting.

The Award-winning Sonos Arc Ultra is available for £719 at Richer Sounds, lopping a whole £280 off its original price.

A Sonos alternative that ticks all the right boxes

So what makes this model stand out from the rest? For starters, the Sonos Arc Ultra offers a level of precision and detail that is incredibly rare to find in a soundbar at this price point.

We note in our review while watching Blade Runner 2049: "Incidental noises such as footsteps, a tooth being gently placed on a glass table, and the soft squeak of a rubber surgical gown as a character stretches out his arm are all delivered clearly and cleanly but in an unforced manner, contributing to the atmosphere without distracting."

It delivers an excellent bass performance as well, certainly outdoing the Marshall Heston 120 in terms of low-level dynamics. While it doesn't go to floor-shaking levels of bass, the low-frequency notes hit with lots of force and stop precisely.

In terms of connectivity, there's wi-fi and Bluetooth support as well as an HDMI eARC output to easily connect to your TV, where it will become your TV's speakers with no need for a remote. We would have liked to have seen a few more HDMI sockets but that won't be a huge issue for most people.

So, if you're hunting for a premium Dolby Atmos soundbar to take your home cinema's audio to the next level, the Sonos Arc Ultra is an easy recommendation. And the £280 Cyber Monday saving at Richer Sounds makes this a no-brainer.

These Beats headphones are heavily discounted this Cyber Monday – but you can do better

To be fair, this isn't actually a terrible deal. We weren't so keen on the Beats Studio Pro when we tested them back in the summer of 2023, but part of that middling reception came from the fact that they cost a sizeable £350 at full price. Now that they're just £99 at Amazon, they do represent reasonably decent value. The goalposts, as it were, have been shifted.

We still think you could be prudent and get an even better deal elsewhere. There's not much that's absolutely bang on £100, so we've selected alternatives that are even cheaper (but still great) or rivals which, while more expensive, we think will give you a bit more bang for your buck.

Beats Studio Pro Cyber Monday deal

Ok, £251 off a pair of cans which started life at £350 is a massive, massive saving, so we wouldn't be completely opposed to you snapping up the Beats Studio Pro. They're well appointed with features, are nicely made and, at £99 rather than £350, sound pretty decent. Stocks are running dry, so other finishes which aren't black may set you back £150 instead. Still not bad, to be fair.

Yep, the Sony WH-1000XM4 are still going strong. They're now two generations out of date, but we feel they're a far more interesting sonic proposition than the Beats Studio Pro. There's more spark and musicality here, while their ANC, foldable design, handsome feature set and strong battery life only make them more appealing. View Deal

If you're not bothered by a lack of noise cancelling, the Austrian Audio Hi-X25BT are very easy to recommend. They're clean, clear headphones which pull out stunning levels of details, with a bright, peppy personality that only gets better when you listen via USB-C.View Deal

For us, the Sony WH-CH720N are the best budget noise cancelling headphones you can buy. They're cheaper and less premium feeling than the Beats, of course, but they sound great, boast very admirable ANC, and are still built to last a good deal of punishment. In the past year, I've been involved in the testing of around 50 TVs.

Yes, that's a lot of TVs, and one of my favourites is the LG G5, which employs a fancy new Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel to dazzling effect.

It's a very tempting TV right now, too, as it's dropped to a record-low price of £1889 at Peter Tyson.

But here's the thing: as much as I like the LG G5, the Sony Bravia 8 II is even better. In fact, I'm pretty sure it's the best TV I've ever tested.

The Bravia 8 II is discounted for Cyber Monday, too. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than the G5 – £1999 at Peter Tyson – but the extra is well worth paying, particularly if you're not going to partner your new TV with a dedicated sound system.

The Bravia 8 II is the successor to the A95L (a TV I love so much, I have one in my own living room), and it's a significant upgrade.

It uses a newer, significantly brighter QD-OLED panel, for starters. Sony doesn't push the brightness as high as LG does with the G5's Primary RGB Tandem OLED panel, but it combines the increased brightness with richer colours and Sony's peerless processing to produce an image that's exceptionally punchy and three-dimensional, but still consistent and authentic.

This is a TV that dazzles with bold, stylised content, yet it never strays into the oversaturated, over-processed territory that some rivals occasionally find themselves in. Instead, the Bravia 8 II maintains Sony’s trademark naturalism, delivering that careful balance between vibrancy and subtlety.

Dark-scene performance is especially strong. Gradation is handled with a finesse the G5 doesn’t quite match, producing true OLED blacks and shadow detail that feels layered rather than crushed.

And, as ever with Sony, you barely need to touch the settings. As noted in my original review:

“For a supremely authentic picture, simply pick Dolby Vision Dark for Dolby Vision content or Professional for everything else.

“Should you want a little more pop to proceedings, either because you’re watching in a room with ambient light or simply because you enjoy an even more thrilling delivery, simply switch to Dolby Vision Bright or the Cinema mode.”

Audio is another feather in the Bravia 8 II’s cap. Its Acoustic Surface Audio+ system produces direct, articulate sound with an openness that most OLED rivals – including the LG G5 – simply can't match.

A dedicated sound system will always be the better option (the Sonos Arc Ultra remains an excellent match), but for built-in speakers alone, the Bravia 8 II is unusually capable.

If there’s one caveat, it’s connectivity: Sony still limits you to two HDMI 2.1 sockets (one doubling as the eARC port), whereas LG offers four full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 inputs on the G5.

For setups with multiple consoles and an AVR or soundbar, that’s something to consider. But if you have just one games machine or none at all, that won't be an issue.

And that’s ultimately why I’d recommend the Bravia 8 II over the G5: while the LG has more HDMI 2.1 sockets and higher brightness, the Sony delivers a picture and sound experience that simply feels more cinematic, more refined, and more consistently satisfying.

It’s always great when a company builds on a winning formula, and the KEF LSX II wireless streaming speaker system is an excellent example of this.

They’re perfect for desktop use or smaller spaces, while the lowest-ever price of £899 on the charming Cobalt Blue finish represents a great deal on a great product and is the lowest price we've seen to date.

As the old saying goes, ‘if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it’ and that is exactly the attitude KEF have taken with several aspects of the LSX II.

Their stylish appearance is virtually identical to their predecessors, while they are also rear-ported and come with KEF’s 11th Generation Uni-Q driver, which consists of a 19mm aluminium tweeter and an 11.5cm aluminium mid/bass unit.

The system has amplification included in the speakers, with the total power amounting to a hefty 200W.

The result is a wonderfully well-rounded sonic performance with an expressive handling of dynamics.

During testing, we noted they were confident performers, deftly communicating the mood of the music being played. They have a “real sense of refinement and maturity without being showy”, with an inviting tonal balance that has ample warmth.

Given their compact size, the bass doesn’t delve too deep, but it’s “tight and controlled” with a “nice layer of texture on the surface of the notes”, too.

In order to enjoy their superb sound, the LSX II use KEF’s W2 wireless streaming platform, which acts as the gateway to connectivity options including wi-fi, Apple AirPlay 2, Google Chromecast and Bluetooth.

There are plenty of streaming possibilities, including Amazon Music, Deezer, Qobuz, Spotify and Tidal, while HDMI ARC, optical and USB-C inputs mean you can connect to a TV or laptop.

The speakers can also be connected via an Ethernet cable, which is required for full native playback of high-resolution audio up to 24-bit/96kHz PCM. DSD256 and MQA decoding are also supported.

Due to their compact size, the LSX II are best suited to desktops and smaller listening rooms. If you’re looking to fill a larger space and have the extra cash to spend, the KEF LS50 Wireless II are worth checking out for £1499 at Peter Tyson, a whopping £700 off their RRP.

Conversely, if you'd like something more affordable, the KEF LSX II LT are currently down to £699 at Amazon, but they have fewer connectivity options than their more expensive counterparts.

It's hard to keep track of what day it is when Amazon's Black Friday week soars through the official Black Friday and crashes straight into Cyber Monday. We're left feeling a bit like we've taken a trip in the DeLorean.

If you're looking for serious oomph to your bass, the standmounts' 16.5cm mid/bass driver and ample cabinet mean serious weight, punch and authority at the lower end, especially when compared with their 607 S3 stablemates.

The Sonos Arc Ultra hits its lowest price ever – and even though it shamed my TV recently, I'm tempted

If you thought the deals were finished now that Black Friday has passed, think again. Cyber Monday has lopped another £80 off the already-discounted price of the Sonos Arc Ultra, bringing the Award-winning soundbar down to just £719 at Richer Sounds.

That's a total discount of £280.

Which is enough to tempt me, even if the soundbar did totally embarrass my TV recently.

The Sonos Arc Ultra is a phenomenal soundbar, with clean, precise and spacious three-dimensional sound, deep and expressive bass and terrific detail. If you're wondering how exactly the Arc Ultra embarrassed my TV recently, just look at the picture atop this article. It just goes to show what happens when you don't measure up before you buy.

Although in fairness, I hadn't bought it, I was testing it in conjunction with the Sonos Ace headphones – here are my findings.

At this price though, I'm seriously tempted. The firm's flagship Dolby Atmos soundbar won a What Hi-Fi? Award this year, taking the place of the original Arc (which won a whole bunch of Awards over the years).

The chief reason for this is, of course, its sound.

"Perhaps contrary to expectations, it’s not vastly bassier than the original Arc, but its low end is significantly more controlled, tuneful and better defined," we wrote in our Sonos Arc Ultra review.

"And that’s just the start of the improvements. It really is quite amazing how much more crisp, spacious, precise and detailed the Ultra sounds."

In terms of connectivity, there's Wi-Fi and Bluetooth support as well as an HDMI eARC output to easily connect to your TV, where it will become your TV's speakers with no need for a remote. We would have liked to have seen a few more HDMI sockets, but that won't be a huge issue for most people.

Ever since it graced our test rooms last year, the Sonos Arc Ultra has been one of the soundbars to beat for an immersive, single unit Dolby Atmos experience. It was a great product at its launch price – but at just £719 at Richer Sounds, it comes highly recommended. Now I just need a new TV to go with it.

The Sony Bravia 8 OLED TV has never been cheaper, but I recommend this rival Cyber Monday deal

Black Friday has given way to Cyber Monday, and while most of the TV deals have stayed the same, the excellent Sony Bravia 8 has dropped in price even further.

Today, you can get the 55-inch Bravia 8 for £1258 at Amazon, the 65-inch model for £1499 at Peter Tyson, and the 77-inch version for £2429 at Richer Sounds.

This is a superb, five-star, What Hi-Fi? Award-winning OLED TV, and it's never been cheaper than it is right now, but I don't recommend buying it.

Why? The reasons are two-fold:

First, Sony recently launched a new version of the Bravia 8 called the Bravia 8A. This has a non-backlit version of the Bravia 8's remote, and it comes with fewer credits for the Sony Pictures Core streaming service, but Sony says the performance is identical.

And, crucially, at most sizes, it's cheaper than the Bravia 8.

The second reason is that the LG C5 is newer and even better than the Bravia 8 – and loads cheaper than both of the Sony options for Cyber Monday.

So, while I'm a big fan of the Sony Bravia 8, it's definitely the LG C5 that I recommend buying right now.

Why choose the C5 over the Bravia 8?

So, why do I prefer the LG C5 to the Sony Bravia 8? The current pricing has a lot to do with it, of course, but, honestly, I would choose the C5 over the Bravia 8 even if they were the same price.

The Bravia 8 was the best performance-per-pound TV of last year, when it defeated the last-gen LG C4. However, LG then made just enough improvements to this year's C5 to surpass the Bravia 8 in performance.

The C5 is a super-crisp OLED TV, with great colours, excellent motion handling and loads of detail. It has a better, more user-friendly operating system and smart platform, too.

The C5 is also a big step up for gamers, thanks to the presence of four full-fat HDMI 2.1 sockets that all support 4K/120Hz (4K/144Hz if you have a fancy PC), VRR and ALLM. The Sony has just two such sockets, and it doesn't go up to 144Hz.

An excellent HGiG mode makes it even easier to get excellent, accurate HDR from games with the C5, too.

There's one way in which the Bravia 8 thrashes the C5, and that's sound. That said, either TV should be partnered with a dedicated audio system (even if that's a fairly affordable soundbar), and the price difference means budgeting for such a thing should be easier if you go for the LG TV.

Of all the deals I saw across Black Friday and Cyber Monday, this is the one I'd buy for myself

You know those Hanna-Barbera cartoons where a character is craving a good meal, and all they can see is the world filtered through a lens of severe hunger, so much so that they see they imagine their friends as a massive slice of pizza or a strawberry milkshake?

That's how I currently see the world, only instead of anthropomorphic food items, it's deal, deals and yet more deals. I've seen so many deals over the past month that I probably mutter about Black Friday and Cyber Monday in my sleep.

Yet of everything that I've witnessed, there's one saving that, if push came to shove, I would be tempted to take advantage of, and that's the whopping discount currently enjoyed by the exceptional Naim Nait XS 3 integrated amplifier.

It's not become what you'd call cheap, but the Nait XS 3 is a legend, and now that it's fallen from £2499 to just £1699 at Peter Tyson, it's hard to resist the urge not to bite the bullet and just buy one. Yes, we've got one in our test rooms as our reference amp, but that's not quite enough for me.

We tested the superlative Naim Nait XS 3 at £2199, but it tends to sell these days for £2499 at full price. That is, unless a very tasty £800 discount comes along and knocks the Naim down to an incredibly tempting price of just £1699. At that money, there isn't a finer amplifier that we can think of on the market today. If you can get it...then get it, because if you don't, I certainly will.

Of all the deals I've come across during the manic month of November 2025, this is the one I'd genuinely want to take home for myself. Those are bold words considering the pedigree of some of the gear we've seen take huge tumbles in price over the last thirty or so days.

The Naim Nait XS 3 is in a league of its own, though. It is, as we said in our review, "a fit-and-forget product in the best sense. It slots into your system and does exactly what you want it to, and that’s deliver the music with emotional impact intact".

The Nait XS 3 has won every accolade you can think of. It's in our Hall of Fame and it's won multiple What Hi-Fi? Awards along the way. It earned five stars upon first review, and it's still part of our reference system for when we want to put a price-comparable alternative up against the very best.

It's a stunning performer, getting to the heart of our music and drawing out the emotions with exceptional perceptiveness.

Musically, it does exactly what we look for in a great piece of hi-fi, in that it connects you directly to the music you're playing without imposing its own will or flavour on the sound it produces.

The amp sounds energetic entertaining and impressively enthusiastic when the moment calls for it, but its real strengths is bringing together various musical components and making them sing as a cohesive, emotionally absorbing ensemble. As we said in our review: "Detail resolution is good, but it’s the amplifier’s ability to assemble all that information into a cohesive whole that really impresses".

We like how the Nait XS 3 is made, too, and while it isn't outrageously flash or showy, the sold amp is extremely well made and never tricky to use. I particularly like the green LEDs around the input buttons contrasting with the amp's sleek black framework – it's like something from Alien, and I can see it slotting nicely into my existing setup.

The Naim isn't exactly stuffed to the brim with features (Bluetooth and digital inputs aren't on the menu) but there's enough here to keep most people happy, including a three stage phono option and four line-level inputs. It'll do for me, that's for sure.

All in all, the Naim Nait XS 3 is a bona fide legend, and one of the best purist stereo amplifiers you can get at this sort of level. We think it's outstanding, and if you don't get one from Peter Tyson, then I just might.

This five-star TV is ridiculously cheap for Cyber Monday – but there's a catch!

The Black Friday deals are continuing as we head into Cyber Monday, and there's literally no cheaper five-star TV than the 50-inch Amazon Omni QLED, which can currently be bought for just £300 at Amazon.

Lowest-ever price: £300
At full price, the 50-inch Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED is a really good TV. With this discount, it's a total bargain. It combines QLED technology with capable local dimming and considered tuning to produce a surprisingly balanced and cinematic picture. It also supports all HDR formats, has surprisingly good gaming specs and, of course, features the app-packed Fire OS smart platform.View Deal

There's no denying that's a serious bargain, but I don't think you should buy it.

That's because the newer 50-inch TCL 50C6KS is even better, and is available for just a little more money – £345 at Amazon.

Lowest-ever price: £349
The 50-inch TCL C6KS would have been strong value at its £549 launch price, so when we reviewed it at £419, we discovered an exceptional TV for the money. So exceptional, in fact, that we gave it an Award! And now you can buy it for even less.View Deal

That additional £45 is well worth paying, in my view.

Unlike the Omni QLED, the TCL 50C6KS is a Mini LED TV with 160 dimming zones. It's much brighter than the Amazon model, and has much better contrast.

The panel also features TCL's new HVA technology, which helps it deliver deep blacks, refined shadow detail, and better halo control than cheaper TVs normally manage.

Like the Omni QLED it supports all current HDR formats (HLG, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision), but its superior hardware means its better able to make use of them, delivering a brighter, more dynamic and more colourful picture.

Bright highlights pop without washing out, and the colour is both punchy and natural – skin tones, skies and foliage all feel balanced, not over-saturated.

On the design side, the TV is mostly plastic, but nothing about it seems cheap when you’re actually watching it. The bezels are reasonably slim and the stand is serviceable.

Performance for gaming is pretty solid: there’s VRR and ALLM support, and the input lag is very low (9.9 ms). It’s only a 60Hz panel, but that's to be expected at this level, and the HDR in games feels satisfying and punchy.

The smart platform is Google TV, which gives you all the usual streaming apps plus voice control. Every major streaming service is supported, including all of the UK catch-up apps.

Surprisingly, the audio is very capable for a TV at this price. It supports Dolby Atmos and DTS Virtual-X, and it delivers more clarity and detail than you’d expect – dialogue stays clean, and there’s good separation, though the bass isn’t powerful. It’s not going to replace a soundbar, but for everyday viewing it’s very decent.

There are a few drawbacks: motion can look a little soft, and very bright HDR highlights sometimes suffer clipping or colour banding. But this is still, as we said in our review, “one of the year’s biggest bargains”.

It overdelivers in pretty much every area where you’d normally compromise on a budget TV, which is why it's a What Hi-Fi? Awards 2025 winner.

So, yes, the Amazon Omni QLED is great value for £300, but the improvements offered by the TCL C6KS are well worth the extra £45 it currently costs.

If you thought the Black Friday TV deals were good, check out this early Cyber Monday deal.

The 65-inch Hisense U8N, which launched at a price of £1800, can now be picked up for just £769 at Hughes.

I suspect this is your last chance to get this deal, as this is an older model that has now been officially discontinued, and most retailers have now sold out.

If you want a great value, top-end Mini LED TV, the Hisense U8N is a solid choice. The set offers an impressive, balanced picture, fantastic upscaling capabilities, a 4K/144Hz refresh rate for gamers and an all-encompassing streaming selection. Get it at its lowest price before stock runs out.

When the Hisense U8N first landed last year, its £1800 price tag pitched it deep into OLED territory. Now that it's available for under £800, it suddenly becomes a very different – and far more compelling – proposition.

Design and build feel like a serious step up from previous Hisense sets. The stand is solid and stable – heavy enough that shifting the TV demands two people – and the slimmer speaker grille leaves ample room underneath for a soundbar.

The 4K 65-inch panel uses Mini LED backlighting and Quantum Dot tech, and the TV supports all four of the current HDR formats: HLG, HDR10, HDR10+ and Dolby Vision.

Gaming specs are great, too, with support for 4K/120Hz (and 4K/144Hz if you've got a powerful PC), VRR, ALLM and gaming in Dolby Vision. There are just two HDMI 2.1 sockets, though.

Picture-wise, once you tweak the settings, the U8N is a really good peformer. Blacks aren’t quite OLED-deep, but shadows retain detail, and bright scenes stay controlled rather than blown out.

In dark film scenes, contrast and shadow detail are rich; in bright sunlit HDR scenes the TV’s high peak brightness makes highlights pop. Upscaling older 1080p or lower-res content also impresses – grain, texture and shadow detail remain intact, preserving older films’ character.

Sound is a bit of a weak spot – the built-in 2.1.2 setup is serviceable at modest volumes, but strained when pushed harder – but hopefully this super-low price leaves space in your budget for a soundbar.

In short, while the Hisense U8N once looked like a not-great choice alongside similarly priced OLED sets, it looks like exceptional value with this super-cheap Black Friday / Cyber Monday deal.

Black Friday is now firmly in the rearview mirror, but Cyber Monday is dead ahead, and most of the best TV deals are still available.

In fact, I just found a sneaky way to get my favourite small OLED – the 42-inch LG C5 – for just £727 at AO.com.

The previous best price was £740 at Hughes, and the TV is still £759 at Amazon, so this is a great deal. And remember, this is a TV that launched at a price of £1400!

Getting this price means signing up for an AO.com membership, which costs £40, but I've accounted for that in the £727 price I've quoted.

How it works is you sign up for the membership for £40, then you can buy the TV for just £687 – and get free delivery thrown in.

A small amount of effort then, but well worth it for the best 42-inch TV that money can buy.

The smallest version of the C5 is now the very best 42-inch TV you can buy – and it has the What Hi-Fi? Award to prove it. It's admittedly not a big improvement on the C4, but it didn't need to be. Expect balanced picture quality, excellent smart and flawless gaming specs.

The LG C5 is clearly the best 42-inch TV currently available – and yes, I say that as someone who’s tested many.

The hallmark OLED magic is all here: pixel-level contrast, truly inky blacks, and that pixel-level contrast control that never fails to draw you into a film or game.

With a little tweaking – we recommend Filmmaker Mode with judder reduction off and tone mapping on – the picture is beautifully balanced. Rich but natural skin tones, bright highlights when called for, and none of that over-the-top HDR exaggeration.

Scenes pop with impressive depth, colours feel cinematic rather than overcooked, and even fast action stays entirely smooth, with no ghosting or blur.

On the smart TV front, the C5 gets close to top marks. The latest webOS has too many adverts, but it also houses a full complement of properly nativised streaming apps, including Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, Apple TV+, and even BBC iPlayer, ITVX and many more besides.

But where the C5 really shines, at least for me, is gaming. All four HDMI 2.1 ports support 4K/120Hz gaming (4K/144Hz if you have a powerful enough PC), with VRR, ALLM and Dolby Vision Game Mode support.

That low input lag and high refresh rate make it so responsive that many people buy the LG C5 as a large gaming monitor rather than a traditional TV, and I'm all for that.

No TV is perfect, and the 42-inch C5 has some small flaws.

Colour volume takes a slight hit in very dark scenes; there are moments when low-light content feels a bit flatter than I’d like; and the built-in speakers are pretty weak.

But the picture is still excellent overall, and no TV sounds great, so these flaws are easy to accept – particularly at this price. Do try to add a soundbar to improve the audio, though.

In short, the C5 isn’t flawless, but it comes as close as any 42-inch OLED has to date. For me, it’s hands-down the best compact premium TV you can buy: cinematic when you watch movies, super-responsive when you play games, and compact enough for a second room or smaller lounge.

Yes, the 65-inch Sony Bravia 8 is a fantastic OLED TV. We proclaimed it the TV Product of the Year in the 2024 What Hi-Fi? Awards, in fact, so it's fair to say we're big fans.

However, while the 65-inch Bravia 8 has just had a fresh discount that takes it down to just £1999 at Amazon, we don't recommend that you buy it right now.

What gives? Well, there's an alternative OLED TV that is very nearly as good as the Bravia 8 but is currently available for much less. Said alternative is the 65-inch LG C4, which just hit a lowest-ever price of just £1299 at Amazon. That makes it £700 cheaper than the Sony Bravia 8. Kind of a no-brainer, right?

It's hard not to recommend the LG C4 when it's at such a phenomenally low price. But, let us be clear, it's not to say the Sony Bravia 8 isn't a great TV. It absolutely is. But, it doesn't matter if you're one of the best OLED TVs on the market when there's a comparatively great alternative on offer for £700 less.

The Bravia 8 beats the C4 in some aspects, of course. While the two TVs are fairly closely matched overall, the Sony model has a little more to offer in terms of picture quality and sound. But, if you're buying an external audio system to boost the LG C4, (the Sonos Beam Gen 2 is an appealing, affordable option), you'll still find yourself with a hefty amount of extra change.

So, what does the LG C4 have to offer? Well, when it comes to gaming, it's an excellent pick – even better than the Bravia 8. It's got four HDMI 2.1 sockets, as opposed to Sony's two.

In our full review, we had an abundance of good things to say about the LG C4 and we recommended waiting for the price to drop. Well, here's your opportunity. So, whilst the Bravia 8 is a superb TV and Award-winner, with the current discount on offer on the LG C4 right now, we absolutely have to recommend the alternative.

The Black Friday sales may have started weeks before the official date (29th November) this year, but don't expect them to hang around for as long afterwards. Indeed, if you have been hovering over that 'add to cart' button, we are now in ~~do-or-die~~ do-or-be-disappointed territory.

Routinely hot on the heels of Black Friday, Cyber Monday came and went yesterday and several retailers, such as Amazon, have now ended their sales events. That said, some of the specialist audio and hi-fi retailers who have delivered many of the best deals I've seen over the past weeks, such as Peter Tyson, Sevenoaks and Richer Sounds, are still going strong with their sale promotions.

According to its countdown timer, Richer Sounds' sale ends tonight, when the clock strikes midnight. I imagine Sevenoaks's sale will end sooner rather than later too. Meanwhile, Peter Tyson posted on its Facebook page yesterday that it is "preparing for Cyber Monday and a whole week of more great deals"... so perhaps the end isn't so nigh over there.

Since Cyber Monday officially ended, I've gone back through my (and my colleagues') favourite hi-fi and audio deals from the past weeks to see which ones appear to be sticking around a little bit longer. In our five-star B&W 607 S3 review, we called these bookshelf speakers "entertaining in spades" and "a delight". We're in the final moments of Cyber Monday and I'm fully expecting the sales to start dropping off after the clock strikes midnight. In years prior, Amazon has tended to keep some of its deal prices lingering for another day at least (fingers crossed), but that is by no means a given – if you're on the fence and yet to commit to a purchase you've been eyeing up, I wouldn't stand on ceremony in case those deals really do end in a few hours.

If you are in the market for a new big-screen TV, a budget Dolby Atmos soundbar or a premium pair of wireless noise-cancelling headphones, may I offer you some last-minute inspo? I've been tracking the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales since they began in mid-November, and my favourite deal in each of those three categories is, fortunately, still live.

In our expert review team's Sennheiser Momentum 4 Wireless review, we praised Sennheiser's flagship Bluetooth headphones for their clean, neutral, and musical sound profile. They demonstrated a well-balanced tonal quality, with crisp highs, detailed mids, and controlled bass, and an undisputable sonic highlight is their lively nature, which ensures upbeat music sounds just that. Thanks to the remarkable efforts of the QN900D's latest 8K upscaler, the TV crucially makes a compelling case for 8K TVs even in the unlikely event that 8K content never becomes a thing. Thanks, presumably, to the massive contribution of AI, the precision with which the QN900D adds the tens of millions of extra pixels required to turn 4K and HD sources into 8K pictures feels, to quote our QE75QN900D review, "almost mystically impressive".

While having a bright screen is great and all, this doesn’t always equate to good picture quality. However, the lighting system of this TV uses Mini LEDs, meaning far more separate lights are packed into the screen, raising the potential for more precise light control. And the Samsung's implementation is fantastic.

The premium 8K panel enables the flagship model to meet today’s stringent television energy consumption rules while achieving a 20 to 30 per cent boost in brightness with HDR content over last year's 75-inch QN900C model.

It also holds plenty of opportunities for gamers. All four of its HDMIs are equipped to handle the latest cutting-edge features of 4K/120Hz, 144Hz refresh rates if your PC supports them, VRR (including AMD Freesync Premium Pro) and ALLM switching. Plus, of course, 8K games at up to 60Hz refresh rates should you be lucky enough to have a PC rig capable of rendering so many pixels.

With its eight reasonably sizeable midrange drivers and other speakers arranged all around the screen’s edges, not to mention 90W of total power, the QN900D talks a good audio game, even though it is arguably more impressive on paper than in practice. That said, premium TVs rarely offer great audio, and we would always suggest pairing one with a separate Dolby Atmos soundbar or surround speaker package so that the TV's picture talents are complemented by equally good audio talents.

If you can afford a "wow" TV such as this one, we wouldn't hesitate to add it to your basket in the final hours of Cyber Monday. Sure, it's still expensive at its $4500 Cyber Monday price, but it's worth it if you can afford it.

I couldn't live without my Apple TV 4K - and this Cyber Monday deal makes it an even better buy

My Apple TV 4K is practically my prized possession. While I've harped on plenty about my obsession with physical media, I have to admit there are some things that 4K Blu-ray discs can't do.

Countless shows on streaming platforms simply don't have wide physical releases (Andor, The Bear, and Silo to name a few), and I'm not willing to hang around and have these incredible shows spoiled while waiting for a potentially non-existent disc version to appear. In the same vein, I'm not willing to compromise on picture and sound quality; yes, I'm aware of how snobby that sounds, but my time at What Hi-Fi? has exposed me to the finer AV equipment in life.

That's why only the best will do, and when it comes to media streamers, the Apple TV 4K really is the best. Everything about it, from the exceptional tvOS interface that wipes the floor with the Android TV system that my Philips OLED uses, to the Dolby Vision HDR and Dolby Atmos immersive audio compatibility, and even the lovely metal remote with the touch wheel controls; I don't know what I'd do without it.

Unfortunately, it's rarely discounted, meaning those in the market for a streamer can expect to pay the full £149. However, thanks to scrolling through endless Cyber Monday deals, we have finally spotted a saving; albeit a modest one, but a saving nonetheless.

It's down to £139 at Currys, making for a saving of £10. It's not a lot, but considering a month of Apple TV+ or Disney Plus costs around a tenner, you can always put that saving into a subscription service to take your new Apple TV for a spin.

The latest generation Apple TV 4K is a couple of years old at this point, but it's still my favourite streamer on the market by far. Upgrades over the second generation model include the removal of the fan thanks to its super-efficient internal components, USB-C replacing the lightning port on the remote, and HDR10+ support – all welcome additions to an already excellent streamer.

Features-wise, the Apple TV 4K is stacked; offering support for HDR in all of the major formats, Dolby Atmos audio, and even HDMI 2.1 connectivity for QMS and responsive gaming (not that I do much gaming on mine).

As for performance, the Apple TV 4K is a marvel, offering a rich, dynamic and thoroughly engaging picture. Apple's expert approach to contrast delivers an image with oodles of three-dimensional depth, adding to the immersion, while its prowess with dark details shouldn't be understated.

It sounds fantastic too, with a warm, detailed and expressive sound that makes any movie or TV show simply sing. Team Hi-Fi will cringe, but this streamer paired with my Sennheiser soundbar is one of my favourite ways to fill my flat with music; it's simple to use and sounds great, what more could I ask for?

I can't think of a day in recent memory that I haven't used my Apple TV 4K, and honestly, I don't know if I could ever go back to streaming on anything other than this five-star bit of kit. Discounts truly are rare, so while this £10 discount at Currys won't take the medal for the biggest Cyber Monday saving, it's still a saving nonetheless.

Big TVs come with big price tags, right? Not necessarily. In recent years we've seen sets get bigger while their price tags shrink, so much so that, come sales time, there are some very affordable TVs that will dwarf the average family sofa.

Case in point: the TCL 85C805K. This 85-incher won a What Hi-Fi? Award this year, and has just dropped to its lowest price ever – £1269 at Amazon. That's a great deal. Don't think so? Outside. Now.

We jest, of course. We're lovers, not fighters here at What Hi-Fi?, and just want to spread the joy of a £310 saving on a big-screen TV.

True, there are bigger savings to be had on other TVs. But when we reviewed this TCL model, we called it "the home theatre bargain of the year". And that was at full price. Knock another £300-odd off that, and you've got a quite incredible bargain.

The 805K offers good contrast and brightness, excellent support for HDR and gaming, and – in case we haven't mentioned it – a massive 85-inch screen. That's getting into projector territory. But its brightness, contrast and general HDR performance outdo any projector.

On the downside, the colours do lack a little finesse, and the picture looks a bit soft at times. It's also missing some UK catch-up apps, but that's nothing a quick Google TV Streamer or Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K won't solve.

In concluding our review, we noted: "we can’t stress enough just how all-round watchable and consistent its pictures remain – even with our favourite ‘stress test’ demo scenes." If you're looking for a big bargain this Cyber Monday, you've found it.

It's late in the day, we're at the bottom of the ninth, light is fading fast, the sun is setting on the horizon, the final grains of sand are passing through the hourglass and the auburn shades of autumn have been ousted by the thick frosts of winter. Whichever your overused temporal cliché preference, you can't escape the fact that we're all collectively heading into the last-chance deals saloon, and this town ain't big enough for middling deals on half-baked gear. This, of course, is Cyber Monday.

There's always a worry of panicking at this prospect and hurtling head first into a deal that isn't for you, but such fears can be allayed with this white-stetson-donning hero of a deal courtesy of Crutchfield. The Naim Mu-So 2nd generation, one of the finest, sleekest and downright superb-est wireless speakers we've tested, has tumbled in price from $1300 to just $1090 at Crutchfield, a bargain that's well worth lassoing into your eagerly-awaiting basket.

What Hi-Fi? may be based in good old Blighty, but don't think that we're neglecting
to sniff out the finest deals for our dear American cousins this Cyber Monday. We may be two nations divided by a common language, but if there's one thing that truly does unite our two great lands, it's a love of a stunning deal.

And stunning this is. The Naim-Mu-so 2nd Generation is, akin to Harry Styles or Ryan Gosling in full Barbie mode, one of those rare instances in which form and functionality come together in perfect harmony. Gorgeous to behold and stunning to listen to, it's as much a treat for the ear as it is for the eye.

If it's up your proverbial street, the Naim's sleek yet somewhat industrial looks will have you drooling at the chops. The aluminium chassis sports a handsome burnished grey finish with a front wave-like grille, made of a new nylon and polyester knit fabric that Naim says improves sound sensitivity by around 1db in the midrange. The results? A symphony of wireless wonder. It's rather apt that the Mu-so 2's aesthetic melds a hard-edged industrial sensibility with more refined tweaks and adornments, as it's a similar combination of grit and guile which the speaker exhibits during playback. The Naim's powerful, rich sound fills a room with plenty of meaty muscle, but there's enough rhythmic prowess and tonal insight to make the whole experience feel far more three-dimensional.

In terms of more functional fare, the Naim has you covered no matter how you listen, offering it UPnP streaming of hi-res music up to PCM 32-bit/384kHz, direct streaming from Spotify Connect and Tidal, Apple AirPlay 2, internet radio and Google Chromecast, as well as Deezer, Qobuz and Google Play Music on the menu. Offline streaming is catered for with Bluetooth, while USB, optical and 3.5mm inputs offer the ability to connect another source, such as a CD transport, CD player or television.

In normal times, the Sony Bravia 8 is the best performance-per-pound TV around. That's why we proclaimed it the TV Product of the Year in the 2024 What Hi-Fi? Awards. It's been discounted for Cyber Monday, too, so you would imagine that it's pretty much a no-brainer of a purchase, right?

Umm, not for me, actually.

I love the Bravia 8. I was involved in the review and the decision to give it an Award. But it's still not the TV I would buy today. I would buy the LG C4, the 65-inch version of which is down to just £1495 at Amazon.

So why would I personally go against 'our' advice? Two reasons: price and gaming.

While the 65-inch LG C4 is £1495 right now, the best price for the 65-inch Sony Bravia 8 is currently £1799 at Sevenoaks. I could do a lot with that £304 of 'change'. If I didn't already have a Sony HT-A9 sound system, I could buy a Sonos Beam Gen 2, which is, by absolute coincidence, down to £304 at Amazon. A C4 and a Dolby Atmos soundbar for the same price as a solo Bravia 8 is really compelling.

And then there's the gaming bit. The Bravia 8 is a really good TV for gaming, but the C4 is better, not least because it has four HDMI 2.1 sockets to the Sony's two. As an owner of both the PS5 and Xbox Series X, plus a Dolby Atmos sound system that uses HDMI eARC, two HDMI 2.1 sockets simply isn't enough.

I really like the LG C4's HGiG mode, too, which makes it an absolute doddle to get greater accuracy with many HDR games.

And it's not as if the Bravia 8 absolutely smashes the C4 in other regards. The two TVs are pretty closely matched overall, with the Sony model just edging it in terms of picture quality. It's fair to say the Bravia 8 sounds quite a lot better, but if you're adding an external audio system, as I would be, this isn't really a consideration.

To reiterate, the Bravia 8 is a brilliant TV and a great pick for many people, but this Cyber Monday I would personally pick up the cheaper, more gaming-focused LG C4.

In terms of value, you can't beat the Arcam A5. It's such a good amplifier, in fact, that you could, in a blind listening test, be forgiven for thinking that it was a far more premium and expensive performer than its actual price tag would suggest. For under £1000, it's quite astoundingly good.

The Arcam A5 offers three line-level inputs plus a moving magnet phono stage, serving up a 50-watts per channel output. On the digital side, you have a pair of coaxial inputs and a single optical input, all capable of accepting music streams of up to 24-bit/192kHz thanks to an ESS ES9018 DAC chip.

A certified What Hi-Fi? 2024 Award-winner, the A5's insightful, flexible will play ball with almost any price-compatible gear. In terms of being a balanced piece of kit, the Arcam nails its brief, and we can recommend it as something that you would partner with budget kit as well as more premium gear thanks to the amp's forgiving yet sufficiently transparent nature.

Get it firing and you'll realise just how good the A5 is. As we said in our review: "There is a fine sense of control, with the amplifier showing impressive composure when the music gets demanding. It doesn’t sound stressed or cluttered, even when pushed to higher volume levels. Lows are well-defined and authoritative but pleasingly agile. There is plenty of punch too, which keeps things entertaining."

This is one of the biggest savings we've seen throughout the Black Friday week and Cyber Monday sale. And it's still live today, with the end of Cyber Monday in sight.

If you're in the market for a pair of premium headphones for at-home listening, you can't go wrong with this deal, which sees the Focal Elegia reduced from £849 to £329, a huge £520 saving at Sevenoaks.

We called the Focal Elegia "ideal for home and on-the-go listening" when we awarded them four stars at their original price, but at this price it would have been nigh-on impossible not to award them a full five-star verdict.

These wired Focals may be some years old now but it isn't like wired headphones go 'out of date' like many electronics these days. For this price, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone who is looking for spacious, detailed and controlled headphones whose talents belie this kind of price tag. There were (and still are) more insightful performers at their original price, hence their four(not five)-star rating, but at this knockdown price they are hard to beat. View Deal

The Focals are closed-back designs, too, so won't leak sound as open-backs do, and are comfortable enough to wear for hours at a time, despite their substantial-looking build. They are, in line with other Focal pairs, gorgeously made. In fact, we agreed as a team that, due to their pricey feel and build quality, we wouldn’t have been surprised to see a price tag twice the size attached to them. Needless to say, you won't find more luxurious lookers anywhere near today's deal price elsewhere.

I remember listening to our review team's test sample of the Elegia headphones when they entered our test rooms and thinking that they sounded very 'Focal' – clean, detailed and spacious. Mature, to pick just one adjective. The French brand has produced several impressive wired headphones over the past decade, and the Elegia is one of them.

They weren't quite as detailed as the class leader at this lofty price level at the time, the second-gen Beyerdynamic T1, and they could have been a little rhythmically tighter. But these shortcomings are much easier to accept at this discounted price. For £329, these are sophisticated performers indeed – clean and spacious, with plenty of attack and scale and a pleasing depth to bass notes.

You very rarely get headphones that fall to less than half price in their lifetime – especially ones of such quality. So if you want closed-back headphones and these Focals suit your budget and sonic preference, I'd recommend you jump on this Focal Elegia Black Friday deal.

The Sony PS-LX310BT has been on the market for a while now, but that doesn't mean it's not still an incredibly solid choice for listening to your vinyl. Yes, it's a budget-friendly option so may lack some of the 'trendy' aesthetics from its competitors, but if you're looking for a turntable that will provide excellent sound without breaking the bank, then you're in the right place. Even without the discount, it's an affordable package. Take another £50 off and we're laughing.

In our full review, we stated: "What the Sony lacks in terms of top-quality sound, it makes up for by being fun, ridiculously user-friendly and resoundingly listenable." It's not just a first turntable option, but a deck that offers a fully automatic setup with built-in phono stage, the ability to pair up to eight Bluetooth devices, and an incredibly user-friendly design. And that's just one of the reasons we keep putting it in our list of best record players even years after release.

As we mentioned, the phono stage means you can plug it directly into a pair of active speakers, making for a seamless and wireless setup. So, the Sony slots seamlessly into any home audio system.

The Sennheiser Ambeo Mini Dolby Atmos soundbar is ridiculously cheap for Cyber Monday – but you should buy this instead

Cyber Monday is already offering some seriously competitive soundbar deals, to the extent that we're seeing savings surpass those of Black Friday weekend. Some of our favourite models are continuing to drop in price and are well worth checking out; unfortunately, this Sennheiser is not one of them.

Well, the Ambeo Soundbar Mini is cheap, but with a three-star review under its belt, it's a tough model to recommend regardless of the discount. We initially reviewed this compact Dolby Atmos soundbar for £699 and noted in our review that it was "expensive compared to its peers". Now that it's down to just £299 on Sennheiser's official website, we can retract this statement for the duration of Cyber Monday; but that doesn't mean you should buy it.

Its closest rival, the Sonos Beam (Gen 2), has dropped in price yet again (we've practically lost track of how many times this has happened) to a new low of £304 on Amazon. To cut a long story short, the Sonos Beam is a much better buy, thanks to its sonic superiority.

The latest offering from Sonos impressed us with its exceptional and immersive Dolby Atmos performance. Being a Sonos product, it also has wi-fi and network streaming onboard, plus compatibility with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant. This deal is exclusively on the white finish, though the black model is also down to £329.

In many ways, the Sonos and Sennheiser are similar soundbars with one major difference separating them. They both feature stylish and high-quality builds and support Dolby Atmos despite lacking dedicated upward-firing drivers. Instead, the crucial overhead sound aspect of the immersive format is handled by a clever psycho-acoustic audio processing system.

The Sennheiser takes the edge on sound format support, with DTS:X and Sony 360 Reality Audio on board, and it sounds crisp and clear too. However, this is where we have to stop praising it, because if you want the better-sounding 'bar, then the Beam (Gen 2) is clearly a better choice.

Its warm, rich and refined sound is much more engaging and dynamic compared to the Ambeo Mini, and while the Beam doesn't have oodles of low-end weight, it's certainly more authoritative than the Ambeo. The Beam also sounds more open and expansive, which is an important quality for any Dolby Atmos soundbar. Comparatively, the Ambeo features quite a narrow and uninspiring sound stage, which inhibits its cinematic quality.

For the sake of five Great British Pounds, we implore you to skip this Sennheiser deal and go for the Sonos instead, even if the savings might not appear as large on paper. The Beam (Gen 2) is still an absolute steal at £304 on Amazon, and this is unquestionably the lowest price we've ever seen it at.

I've found the best Cyber Monday deal on this five-star Arcam AVR

As we see out the end of Black Friday and welcome the short-lived dawn of Cyber Monday, it may seem that all of the best deals have been snapped up.

But all is not lost: we've found a massive price drop on a five-star AVR.

The Arcam AVR31 is down from its launch price of £5799 to £3699 at Sevenoaks – and a free pair of Sennheiser SPORT True wireless headphones is being thrown in for good measure.

With a price drop of £2550, this is definitely a deal worth considering.

The AVR31 earned the full five stars for its clear sound and oodles of options for connectivity.

It has seven channels of power amplification and up to 16 channels of decoding, making it capable of processing audio for systems with configurations up to 9.1.6.

It boasts wide-ranging audio format support, including Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, IMAX Enhanced and Auro-3D, as well as Dolby Virtual Height, DTS Neural:X and DTS Virtual:X for systems without height speakers. It ticks all the boxes on the connections front too, with seven HDMI 2.1 inputs and three outputs, all capable of handling 8K video signals at 60fps and 4K at 120fps with support for VRR, ALLM, Dolby Vision and HDR10+. One of the outputs also supports eARC.

Other physical connections include six digital (four coaxials, two opticals) and six analogue RCA inputs, plus optical, analogue and preamp outputs. There’s an aerial connector for an FM/DAB tuner, a USB port and trigger outputs with IR extenders for two zones, along with an RS-232 serial connector and an Ethernet port. Streamers are well catered for as well, with AirPlay 2, Bluetooth aptX HD, Google Chromecast, Spotify Connect, Roon and Tidal Connect all supported.

Sonically, it offers an appreciable level of refinement, separation and articulation not often heard at this level. It certainly packs a punch during action scenes, but then there's a lightness of touch during quiet moments that is quite spellbinding. It sounds excellent streaming music too, putting in a buoyant and musical performance.

Cyber Monday is a good time to buy, well, all manner of things really – including a starter hi-fi system. Some of What Hi-Fi?'s favourite-ever budget components are on the end of decent Cyber Monday deals, so I've rustled together an entire system of kit that I know works well together to save you the arduous research. And hey, an all-black affair (if you wish), it won't look half bad together either.

Below is a hi-fi system suggestion that covers network streaming and vinyl playback for under £950, comprising a pair of bookshelf speakers, stereo amplifier, music streamer and turntable that are all currently discounted to save you £250 in total. Three are current What Hi-Fi? Award winners while one is a five-star favourite. Throw in some budget Chord Company C-Screen speaker cable and QED Profile interconnect cables and you're coming in around the £1000 mark all up.

You might want to consider a pair of dedicated speaker stands (around £100) too, although any flat and rigid support would suffice to begin with if you can't afford them right now. Of course, if you only need one of the audio sources, you can naturally save yourself £169 or £195 on this whole system cost.

As well as speakers, you need an amplifier to drive them, and none is better value this Cyber Monday than this five-star Marantz (although if you can afford a little more, the £400 Rotel A8 is our Award winner). With 45W per channel and multiple analogue and digital connections at this level, the multi-Award-winning Marantz PM6007 is a typically professional effort from the hi-fi specialists. It also sounds wonderful, with a cohesive, punchy and deeply musical performance. An amp that's made to be enjoyed, and has been a favourite entry-level amp of ours for many years.

The dinky WiiM Pro Plus is a talented all-rounder that will add streaming powers to any system, it's easy to use and has a well-laid-out app – and it sounds entertaining for the price too. A terrific £50 saving that should be snapped up if you want to include streaming in your first hi-fi system.

OK so this £4 saving isn't much, but it is the best budget turntable deal out there. The Primary E is a multiple Award winner that nails the basics at this price, delivering a detailed, spacious, balanced sound that has ample drive and momentum. There's barely any set-up needed (everything comes factory-fitted) and while it doesn't have a phono stage built-in, the Marantz amplifier does, ticking that necessary compatibility box. A great starter turntable for those getting into vinyl.

I'm calling it – Cyber Monday headphone deals have peaked with the Sony XM4.

The formerly Award-winning Sony WH-1000XM4 can now be picked up for just £166.25 at Amazon in the Cyber Monday sales.

Black Friday took the Sonys down to their lowest-ever price of £175 late last week, but the retail giant is now offering a further £8.75 promotional discount at checkout that surely won't be around for long. (I've checked it out and it works, by the way.)

Not only that but you also get four months of Amazon's £10.99/month music streaming service for free as well as a 60-day Audible free trial with your purchase. That's some pretty sweet cherries on top of a pretty tasty cake, folks.

This is a great example of why – and when – you shouldn't ignore older products. The five-star Sony XM4 may not be the latest and greatest Sony noise-cancelling headphones – that would be the £245 XM5 – but they are arguably the best-value pair this Cyber Monday and a tremendous buy if you can't afford the XM5.

I wrote that Sony is winning headphones deals this sales period – and that was before this corker came along.

I thought these Sonys had already seen their final and lowest deal price, but here we are: the Sony WH-1000XM4 are crazy value for Cyber Monday thanks to a just-dropped extra Amazon promo saving and are well worth snapping up if you want solid premium all-rounders but cannot afford the extra £90+ for the newer models from Sony and Bose. I'd bet my own pair of Sonys that this deal price won't go any lower now.

So should you buy the Sony XM4? If you are looking for great-sounding wireless over-ears with active noise cancellation, but the £245 Sony XM5 and £299 Bose QuietComfort Ultra are a little out of your price range, then yes – the Sony XM4 would be my top recommendation alongside the newer Sennheiser Momentum Wireless 4, which are down to £180 for Cyber Monday. It's a very tough call between the two, but the cheaper price and freebies give the Sonys a very slight edge in my opinion.

The XM4's successors, the XM5, are now the class leaders in the premium space, but the former flagships remain competitive in the space with a hugely likeable and entertaining musical sound, very decent ANC and XM5-matching 30-hour battery life (or 38 hours without ANC on). They are still very much five-star performers – particularly at this newly discounted price.

You also get useful features that elevate the user experience, too, such as ‘Speak to Chat’, which allows you to talk to someone while the headphones are still on your head. Bluetooth Multipoint lets you connect two Bluetooth devices to them so you can switch between them easily, while ‘Wearing Detection’ automatically pauses playback when you remove the headphones, and then automatically starts again when you put them back on.

All in all, it's a well-rounded spec sheet that doesn't give away their 2020 release date. The fact you can get that as well as competitive sound and ANC quality for just £166.25 at Amazon, with freebies thrown in, goes beyond our expectations for Cyber Monday and proves that older products can, for the right person and budget, be just the ticket.

Hisense's impressive flagship U8 TV dropped to $698 for Black Friday for the 55-inch size, but Cyber Monday has gone one better, taking a further $48 off.

That's right – you can now get this very good Mini LED for just $650 at Amazon, a saving of 41 per cent on the RRP.

Savings are across the bigger sizes too. The 65-inch U8 is $898 (matching the Black Friday price), while the 75-inch set is $1278 and the 85-incher is $1678 thanks to a further $20 price drop since Black Friday.

This is a very good deal on a very good TV, which we awarded four stars to a few months ago when the 65-inch spent weeks in our test room, praising its impressively balanced picture, fantastic upscaling and decent gaming specs in our Hisense U8 review.

The past Black Friday week may have thrown up a handful of good TV deals on big-screen OLEDs, including the 55-inch LG C4 for $1197 and 65-inch LG C3 for $1197 as well, but none are nearly as affordable as this Hisense. If you want something bigger, brighter and cheaper, this excellent Hisense TV deal could be just the ticket.

Hisense U8N 55-inch Mini LED TV ~~was $1100~~, now $650 at Amazon (save $450)
Hisense's 2024 flagship Mini LED scored favourably in our AV testing room thanks to its balanced picture and great gaming specs. The U8N features support for all of the major HDR formats too, which pairs nicely with the claimed 3000 nits of dazzling brightness.

This is Hisense's flagship TV, so you can expect a fully featured specification alongside a solid performance that is particularly good value in light of this generous Cyber Monday discount, which beats the Black Friday prices on all but the 65-inch model.

It's a very decent alternative for those concerned about OLED's (minor) shortcomings such as lower brightness and potential burn-in, or who don't have north of $1000 to spend on a 55-inch OLED TV deal. Indeed, a 65-inch flagship TV at this price is quite a steal, let alone one that has Mini LED panel technology, an exhaustive feature list and a picture performance our TV experts called "very good".

"The U8N delivers a balanced image that gets so much right," to quote our review. "There’s no hint of oversharpening, whites are controlled and bright scenes full of detail... dark areas house oodles of shadow detail."

You don't get the inky blacks or quite as vibrant colours as OLEDs tend to deliver, and it does take some tweaking in the Hisense's picture settings menu to get the TV to reach its true potential. (You can find the best picture settings in our full U8 review within the picture section.) But otherwise, there's not much to fault at all. "If you are coming from a basic LCD, then the U8 will feel like a night and day upgrade," noted our reviewers.

As to be expected with a top-tier TV, the U8 features a comprehensive spec sheet that includes HDR support in all of the major formats – including HDR10, HDR10+, Dolby Vision HDR and HLG – as well as immersive audio support for Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Gamers are also well catered to with dual HDMI 2.1 sockets that support 4K/120Hz gaming with the PS5 and Xbox Series X, or 4K/144Hz with a capable gaming PC, complete with VRR and ALLM.

The U8's Vidaa smart platform supports all of the major international services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV and Disney Plus, too.

Audio is less of a highlight, as the U8 proved merely average in this department. But we would recommend anyone buying a big-screen TV to upgrade its sound with a decent Dolby Atmos soundbar anyway.

With up to 41 per cent off the RRP, the Hisense U8 is a brilliant Cyber Monday bargain for those who aren't interested in (or don't have the budget for) OLED and want bright, big-screen viewing at a very reasonable price.

Like many iPhone users and Apple lovers during the Black Friday frenzy, you've probably been eyeing up a pair of five-star AirPods Pro 2. I get why, as they're some of the most popular and alluring pairs of wireless earbuds in the world enjoying a new low price of £179 at Amazon.

And yet... as we get into Cyber Monday, they're not the ones I'd go for if it were my money being spent. Much as I can see the appeal of the AirPods Pro 2, there's a pair of price-rivalling alternatives that I think have them licked. For a similar but slightly lower price of £175 at Amazon, you can nab a pair of the What Hi-Fi? Award-winning Sony WF-1000XM5 – and that, to my mind, is a more attractive proposition. Let me explain why.

Best Sony WF-1000XM5 and AirPods Pro 2 deals

Sony's exemplary flagship wireless earbuds sound unbelievably clear, detailed and refined. They also pack in some of the most extensive features available for the premium price, which is now at its lowest-ever price. In terms of in-ear models, the AirPods Pro 2 are the best Apple headphones we've tested and one of the rare sets of the iconic brand's earbuds to gain the full five stats during testing. I absolutely see their appeal, especially for iPhone and iPad users, as the Pro 2 are designed to offer a smooth, intuitive experience with iOS devices that often bypasses even the need for an extra app. Load 'em up, connect them to your iPhone and you can control most key features such as volume, noise control modes and spatial audio directly from your iPhone home screen. Easy.

They're also the best-sounding wireless earbuds Apple has ever made, and that includes the newer AirPods 4 with ANC. Apple has always impressed us with the clarity and tonal neutrality of its products’ audio quality, coupled with a knack for getting voices sounding natural and expressive, but the AirPods Pro 2 add new and powerful ingredients to the sandwich. The flagship AirPods offer satisfying weight, greater detail and an enhanced impression of dynamic punch and subtlety. This is Apple operating at its best, and it's set a high bar we hope it can continue to replicate and push forward in the future.

I also understand how attractive the buds' spec sheet is. 30 hours of total battery life is a decent figure, the noise cancelling is excellent, and Apple's Adaptive Audio sound modes, which adjust the ANC depending on your environment, only add to their seamless usability. The complete package, right?

Sure, but 'complete' doesn't mean 'perfect'. At a similar deal price of £175, you can now get a pair of the Award-winning Sony WF-1000XM5, something I believe is an even better deal. Cristiano Ronaldo is a 'complete' footballer, but he's not, to my mind, as good as Lionel Messi. See the difference?

If Messi has magic in his boots, the XM5 have magic in their buds. I've never come across a pair of wireless earbuds that sound so good at this level, and I've heard a mini mountain of contenders from B&W, JBL, Jabra, Philips, Bose, EarFun and more try to take them on. The way that the XM5 meld refinement and detail with excitement and musicality is breathtaking, and as you listen you'll notice how many elements, textures and layers are being revealed by the outstanding Sony flagships. The AirPods Pro 2 are nimble and nuanced, but side-by-side with the XM5, they don't quite match the astonishing level of detail, openness and power of the Sonys. Across the full musical spectrum, Sony's champions take on all comers like Neo fending off infinite Agent Smiths in The Matrix: Reloaded.

They're great for features, too. Unlike the Pro 2 that have premium features dedicated to iOS users only, the Sony XM5 will work just fine with any smartphone platform you use. The Sony earbuds impress across the board thanks to their exceptional ANC, 24-hour battery life, multipoint Bluetooth and clever 'Adaptive Sound Control' and 'Speak-to-Chat' features that make using them versatile and easy on the go.

My only caveat with the XM5 would be their fit, which isn't quite as instantly comfortable or as secure as the AirPods. It's not a dealbreaker, but you may find you have to work a little harder to get those firm-but-squidgy tips nestled into your ears in a way that works for you. It's worth persevering, though, because once they're where they should be, the WF-1000XM5 will give you a sonic performance that's unmatched at this level. With the current Cyber Monday deal they're on, the Sonys are my clear choice over the AirPods this weekend, and if I had £175 to spend, I'd be happy to spend it on these fantastic XM5s.

The Black Friday 2025 date is Friday 28th November. Cyber Monday 2025 will be Monday 1st December.

Black Friday always takes place on the Friday after Thanksgiving, which means this year it will fall on Friday 28th November. Most retailers will want to make the most of what will typically be the busiest 24 hours of the event, meaning we can expect deals going live at midnight and running until the end of the day.

Of course, you can rest assured that Black Friday will stretch out longer than just 24 hours – those days are long gone. Instead, expect at least a week of build-up, maybe longer, from many retailers. And of course, the Black Friday sales continue through to Cyber Monday, which is always the Monday after Black Friday.

What is Black Friday?

Black Friday began on the other side of the Atlantic but in recent years has very much become a worldwide and UK shopping phenomenon. It's regarded (and backed up by stats) as the busiest shopping day of the year – both online and in-store – and officially kicks off the holiday season.

Why is it called Black Friday? The date was traditionally the start of the Christmas shopping season when retailers hoped to move out of the "red" (loss) and into the "black" (profit), hence Black Friday. Cyber Monday is the online equivalent to Black Friday, and was created to give smaller websites a chance to compete with larger retailers.

What is Cyber Monday?

The term 'Cyber Monday', meanwhile, was coined by Scott Silverman and the National Retail Federation's Ellen Davis in a bid to encourage people to take their shopping online during the Black Friday event. That was back in 2005, when people needed such encouragement! It's always the Monday after Black Friday.

How long will Black Friday last?

Well, Black Friday is 24 hours. And Cyber Monday is 24 hours. But like other big sales events, you always have preliminary and aftermath offers.

For one, deals will run during the weekend sandwiched in the middle of the two days. And in the days and weeks building up to them, there will be plenty of early Black Friday deals flooding the internet.

Are Black Friday deals any good?

After the initial few years of excitement around Black Friday in the UK, we naturally moved to the apathy stage, as people began to question whether the offers were genuinely good deals. And it remains up for debate.

For example, it's not unusual to see discounted products rise in price in the summer months ahead of a "price cut" come Black Friday; this means you're essentially just getting the original discounted price from earlier in the year. That said, there are always genuine deals to be had – it's just finding them amongst the onslaught of offers.

That's where we come in; we'll handpick all the the best TV, audio and AV deals across retailers to identify the genuine Black Friday 2025 deals. And don't forget: you can always refer back to our in-depth reviews to check up on a specific product's performance, features and value for money.

LG OLED TVs, JBL Bluetooth speakers, Sony wireless earbuds and Bose headphones, Alexa and Echo devices, Apple AirPods... you get the picture. Some of the most popular products of the year are almost guaranteed be on offer at pretty much every electronics retailer during Black Friday 2025.

Previous big-sellers over Black Friday also include the Sonos Beam (Gen 2), Sony WH-1000XM5 and WF-1000XM5, Amazon Echo and Fire products, Bose wireless earbuds and noise-cancelling headphones, UE speakers, Naim Mu-so products, Denon AV receivers, OLED TVs and plenty more.

The recent Amazon Prime Day in October gives us a good idea of what to expect. That saw super low prices on the AirPods 4, LG C5 OLED TV, Sonos Beam (Gen 2) and the Sony WF-C710N and WF-C510 wireless earbuds, among others. Here's hoping Black Friday proves even better.

Where to get the best Black Friday deals?

Amazon is obviously one of the biggest players. That's not only down to its size and ubiquity – it also discounts its own products by massive amounts. Considering they're already some of the most competitively-priced devices in their product areas, there are some real bargains to be had.

Its Echo speakers were reduced to better than half price in its recent Prime Big Deal Days sale (aka October Prime Day), so we would expect a repeat performance come Black Friday. Its Fire TV Sticks are also usually among the best deals going.

LG has already slashed the price of its excellent C5 OLED TV, so we're hoping it goes even further. Not to be outdone, Sony's Bravia 8 II fell in price substantially during the last Prime Day, so look out for another hefty discount.

There should also be bargains on older devices. Now that the Apple AirPods (2019) are no longer available from Apple, retailers could be hoping to clear stock. Sony's WH-1000XM4 are getting on now, so this could be their last Black Friday. LG's C3 OLED has been convincingly outperformed by its successors, so the C3 could go for a song.

We won't forget the hi-fi and home cinema kit, so will be on the lookout for deals on B&W and KEF speakers, not to mention 4K and portable projectors, AVRs, turntables and more.

If you want a bit more punch than that of the JBL Go 4 but you're not quite willing to spend around £90 on the JBL Flip 6, the Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 fills the gap nicely. It's small, affordable and brilliant with vocals, all while fitting perfectly into the palm of your hand. Tribit isn't the 'sexiest' name in audio, but trust me, the Stormbox Micro 2 is a special little speaker.

JBL Flip 6: The best affordable portable

JBL Flip 6 ~~was £130~~ now £88 at Amazon (save £53)
One of the best portable speakers around at this price point, the JBL Flip 6 has consistently impressed over its lifespan, beating similarly priced and sized speakers with ease thanks to its bold sound, rugged build and excellent usability. It could be replaced next year with a seventh-gen model, so you can wait for that to arrive or grab one now.

The JBL Flip 6 is a surefire winner if you're keen to spend a bit more of cash, but not that much more. It sonically outperforms the Go 4 easily, and at this level and for this size, I can't think of a better sonic performance than that given by the assured, surprisingly mature but always entertaining Flip 6. As a portable, rain-or-shine companion, the IP67 burrito is hard to beat.

And yes, it's Still winning Awards as we head into 2025.

The JBL Charge 5 Wi-Fi is, unsurprisingly, the standard Charge 5 but with wi-fi streaming powers, not to mention an enlarged woofer and Bluetooth 5.3 support rather than 5.1. It's more expensive, but a £50 saving softens that blow somewhat, so if you want the best Bluetooth speaker made better, it's the one to pick.

Ok, so this is a bit like giving up Coke by moving over to Coke Cherry or replacing your morning croissant with a pain au chocolat, but the truth is, the collective What Hi-Fi? consensus is that we haven't really found any like the Charge 5 that comes close to beating it. Like the Flash vs. the Reverse Flash, the only thing that can beat a leader in its field is, well, itself. The Charge 5 Wi-Fi is essentially the same speaker as the standard version, albeit with a slightly enlarged woofer and streaming support via wi-fi as opposed to pure Bluetooth, all of which leads to a clearer, cleaner sound at a slightly higher price.

JBL Xtreme 4: The biggest and the best

The JBL Xtreme 4 took all that we loved about the Xtreme 3 and built on it to great effect, resulting in a Bluetooth boombox that sounds masterful no matter what you throw at it. This is close to the lowest price for the Xtreme 4 we've seen thus far, meaning you'll be getting the best price possible on a very fresh, up-to-date unit.

Amazon Prime Day 2024 dates revealed

Amazon has revealed the official dates for Amazon Prime Day. The two-day sale will take place 16-17th July 2024 – that's three weeks today.

Prime Day is one of the biggest sales of the year, besides Black Friday and Cyber Monday. Amazon spearheads the annual bonanza, but other retailers usually join in the bunfight so as not to miss out.

This year's event will be the 10th annual Prime Day in the UK. It should be a rare chance to grab a bargain during the otherwise slower summer months.

Though Amazon is staying tight-lipped on what deals will be available, it has mentioned Bose and Samsung as among those taking part. Last year saw discounts on Bose's QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, despite them only being weeks old. Samsung is rumoured to launch its Galaxy Buds 3 the week before – could they receive a discount too?

Amazon has also announced some early deals, including 45 per cent off Amazon Fire TV Omni QLED smart TVs and five months' free Amazon Music Unlimited.

Bose's Award-winning QuietComfort Earbuds II are often discounted at Amazon – but that's not where we'd recommend that you look this time. Bezos doesn't always have the best deals, with the QC II plunging to just £162 on rival retailer Onbuy. That's the cheapest we've ever seen them regardless of retailer, and quite an astonishing deal considering the fact that the Bose buds are former What Hi-Fi? Award winners.

Time waits for no man (or piece of audio tech), though. The Bose QC Earbuds II have been ousted by the five-star QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds, meaning that the outgoing model will see its prices plummet in the coming weeks and months - sad news for the QC II, good news for everyone else!

Despite being not much over a year old and winning a What Hi-Fi? Award, the marvellous Bose QC Earbuds II have been replaced by the also excellent Bose QuietComfort Ultra Earbuds. That means that once the old Award-winners are gone, they really are gone.

That doesn't make them any less of an attractive proposition. Combining engaging, dynamic sound with a comfortable build and some of the best noise cancelling we've ever heard at this level, the QC Earbuds II were truly capable of taking on the might of the Sony WF-1000XM4 and, latterly, the WF-1000XM5.

This deal appears only to be for the buds' "soapstone" white colourway, yet that's no bad thing considering how handsome the QC Earbuds II still look. Not only are they handsome, but the premium true wireless earbuds boast superb active noise-cancelling tech, an IPX4 water resistance rating and a total of 30+ hours of playback when using the charging case.

Oh, and that sound! While the Sony XM4 and WF-1000XM5 may offer a cleaner, more analytical presentation, the QC Earbuds II are exceptional at revealing the timbres and textures of the tracks they convey. As we said in our review: "You feel you can almost touch the instruments, such is the Bose’s ability to bring textures and subtle nuances to life. There’s impressive speed and agility on display too, which... makes for a dramatic and captivating performance."

With this huge price drop, the combined might of the QC II's engaging musical performance, world-class ANC, broad feature set and excellent build quality make them a supremely attractive proposition for the money. The newer Sony WF-1000XM5 are unquestionably stunning performers, and the successors, QC Ultra Earbuds, another five-star effort from Bose. But in terms of pure value and enjoyment, this OnBuy Bose deal is very hard to top if you're looking for some of the best premium wireless earbuds around.

As we wave goodbye to Black Friday and Cyber Monday, we can't help taking one last glance at the best TV deal we've seen all year. Lucky for you, if you didn't take advantage of this deal and are sorely regretting it, there's still time to get an incredible deal on the LG G2.

Now at just £1199 at Richer Sounds for the 55-inch version, the LG G2 is a phenomenal TV at this price. We awarded it five stars last year at its original price of £3299, so with £1200 slashed off the price, it becomes an instant recommendation from us.

Moving up to the 65-inch G2, that's down to £1499, with a whopping £1700 deducted from the price. If you can, we'd recommend spending that additional £300 and going for the bigger screen size, as it's a notable upgrade, although the 55-inch model will still certainly serve you well.

One thing to note is that you'll need to sign up for Richer Sounds' VIP club to access this discount. The good news is that this is a quick, easy and, most importantly, free process that's well worth doing to get this sale.

The LG G2 is LG's flagship 4K model from last year, boasting not only OLED Evo technology but also an added heatsink that allows the panel to be pushed to even brighter levels (though the newer G3 goes even brighter). It also supports every gaming feature you could wish for and has a lovely design – but do bear in mind that a wall bracket is included rather than a stand. LG OLED55G2 2022 OLED TV ~~was £2399~~ now £1199 at Richer Sounds (save £1200)
The 55-inch G2 performs just as brilliantly as its larger sibling and has all of the same great features. If you don't have room for a 65-inch TV, this deal is almost as good.View Deal

In our review, we noted that the G2 possesses a noticeable and welcome brightness boost over other models. We said that “overall brightness of light, full-screen HDR content is increased over LG’s own C2, making such pictures look more realistic and ‘HDR’”. We also stated that this extra brightness also gives a boost to colour volume and vibrancy over previous models of LG TVs.

This extra brightness, however, does not hinder the deep black levels for which OLED TVs are known. As we said in our review, “they’re every bit as inky as they’ve ever been”. All of these strengths mean the G2 presents TV shows and movies fantastically.

Games aren’t forgotten, either. Next-gen game features are also on board, with the G2 supporting 4K/120Hz, VRR, ALLM, HGiG and a Dolby Vision game mode. The G2 has four HDMI ports (all supporting 4K/120Hz) with one port designated for handling eARC connections with external audio devices such as soundbars and AV receivers.

Of course, the newer G3 is an even better TV that boasts brightness-boosting MLA tech, but the lowest price for the 65-inch version of that is currently £2148 at Sevenoaks.

The best TV of 2023, the Sony A80L uses standard OLED technology to amazing effect, delivering a picture that balances the spectacular with the cinematically subtle with absolute aplomb. It sounds good by TV standards, too, and has a solid gaming feature set. My pick if you can afford it, otherwise last year's flagship LG G2 OLED is just £1199.

Sometimes it seems like everyone owns a pair of AirPods. And based on how many pairs Apple (and Amazon) has sold, especially during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales, that might not be too far from the truth before long.

But we thought we would take the opportunity to remind you that there is another, we think, better way. One word: Sony. The iconic Japanese brand took home a clean sweep of What Hi-Fi? Awards in the headphone category for 2023. That's why, after many hours and days of testing, our expert review team thinks that you should consider ditching the little white Apple buds in favour of some Sony earbuds.
