The Champions League finals will take place on 10th June 2023 at the Ataturk Stadium in Turkey. We now know that it will be Manchester City vs Inter for the trophy. Will Haaland bring it home for Manchester City or the Italians thwart Pep again?

The Sky Blues drew none other than Real Madrid in the semi finals, the team who knocked them out last year, but there were no historical jitters with City coming out 5-1 winners on aggregate after a demolition of the 14-time winners in the second leg at the Etihad. Rarely, if ever, have Real been made to look so ordinary – a defeat that will live long in the club's memory, no doubt. Expect plenty of transfer business in the Spanish capital this summer.

City's opponents' path to the final was more a professional job than one of scintillation. After doing well to finish second in a group of death with Bayern and Barcelona, Inter have arguably faced the weakest teams in the draw at every round since with Porto, then Benfica and semi-finally their city rivals Milan. There'll be no escaping the Manchester City in the final, though – a club on course for a treble and arguably the most impressive and complete that the Premier League has seen.

Still, they are beatable, as the likes of Southampton and Spurs will tell you, and, if they do have a weakness to exploit, it's how badly they want this European title. Their shock loss against Chelsea in the final two years ago is proof and fuel to that.

Will that be enough for Pippo Inzaghi to work with? We will see.

Final date:

  • Sat, 10th June: Man City vs Inter (8pm BST / 3pm ET)

The 2022/23 Champions League marks the 68th season of Europe's top football competition. This season's final will take place at the 75,000-capacity Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, Turkey.

Watch the 2022/23 Champions League from abroad with a VPN

Even if you have subscribed to the relevant 2022/23 Champions League rights holders, you won't be able to use them when outside your own country. The service will know your location based on your IP address, and will automatically block your access.

A Virtual Private Network (VPN) helps you get around this obstacle. A VPN creates a private connection between your device and the internet, such that the servers and services you’re accessing aren’t aware of what you’re doing. All the information passing back and forth is entirely encrypted.

There are many VPN providers out there, with some more reliable and safe than others. As a rule, we’d suggest a paid-for service such as ExpressVPN which offers a 100 percent risk-free money-back guarantee. If you're not happy with the service at any time within the first 30 days, then you can cancel with no penalties at all.

Try ExpressVPN risk-free for 30 days
