There's a trick to this iPod sound dock. The bass is too muddy and heavy out of the box, but there's no way to adjust the EQ. So, one must do so on the iPod. Go to "Settings", "Music", "EQ", and choose "Jazz". This will get them very balanced and true. Once this is done, I swear, the Yamaha PDX-30 sounds as good as anything else on the market. Better than Bose systems costing 3 or 4 times as much. And they play as loud as you'd ever want, without distortions. They are simply fantastic. I won a pair of Grado SR80i headphones, and this sound dock rivals the quality of audio from my very excellent headphones.
