I had a listen to the X2's compared to the Neat Motive 2's (although £365 cheaper) received 5 stars.
These speakers where designed by the same team of designers. (i.e. ONE MAN)
The X2's where designed as a Motive 2 killer, which in my humble opinion they do, and do it very well. The Motive 2's have a lack of bass and a sharp top end by comparison. I suspect What HiFi did not give these speakers a fair test. When I listened I use a Naim front end, also recommended by both speaker manufacturers.
