Very pleased with my new V4is , although I was upgrading from a pair of Cambridge S30s. I gave them a thorough testing in the shop (Superfi in Brum), against some Castle Knight 3s (awful) and the Q Acoustic Concept 20s. In all cases they were hooked up to a Yamaha AS500 amp identical to my own. The Concepts were just a little too tight and cold, but the Tannoys had a depth and a warmth that really suits my musical preferences ( blues, rock, prog, folk and electronica). They're now fully run in and are as satisfying a listen whether handling vinyl through my Project Essential II or streaming via my Sonos Connect.

This versatile all-in-one solution has plenty of features to root for, but sound quality isn’t one of them
As exciting and flamboyant as it is, the 2010S2 has too many caveats when it comes to dynamics and cohesiveness for us to recommend it over rivals<
A sharp, exciting picture with essential smarts – and at a terrific price
