Sony MDR-XB500

Bought them for 26GBP on internet after reading very positive people opinions. Plugged them on my Marantz PM6003 with an CD5003 player and......... what a desappointing sound !  A real shame for a Sony product. The only positive thing was the comfort; never had a such comfy headphones !

I decided to give them a try on my Cowon mp3 player, and then, after playing wit the eq frequencies, I finally found the light in the dark. These cans can sound good indeed ! Listening to the last album from Morten Harket ( the singer from A-Ha ), I was surprised by the good sound they can produce. Not really hi-fi, but the most important for me is the feeling, the pleasure when listening to music. Now I can understand why What-Hifi had given only one star, and other people said these cans are great.

I'm happy having tried this option before putting them into the trash can.

if you want good deep rocking bass especially for bass-leading music such as R&B, Soul and Rock, they'll fit to a T!
