Really disappointed with What Hi-Fi for giving this such a good review and make it award winning.
I bought this to replace my S370 however this S380 is not dlna compatible - the older model is. Isn't this a backwards step? I rely on dlna and I feel let down by What HiFi for not highlighing this.
In BDP-S 380 You cannot load the subtitle from USB.
There are many internet apps are missing when we compare to 370.
some formats also cant read from this player.
without those fix please dont buy the player guys..
Local brands are supporting every thing and you ll get 20% of the price of sony player.Without these fix please dont buy..
Thats my suggestion we already wasted our money..Think twice before buying..
I have bought S-370, and recently bought this model S-380.. yes I have 2 blu-ray disc players now.
For once again, there are issues to highlight:
1- This Sony model as well as S-370 model sounds flat as compared to my old Samsung DVD HD-860 player. And my previous Philips BDP-3000 sounds better than this.
2- Thanks to upgraded USB driver makes it able to read NTFS hard disc format. However, this player still can't read subtitle.
3- And you cannot search folders while playing music file on the same hard disc.
4- Also cannot read file located in more than 3 sub-folders.
The big issue is sound quality.. It sounds flat, and sometimes painful at high volume.

A seriously talented performer that has a few design issues
This is a top-notch surround package for the money. It’s a worthy alternative to the award-winning KEF R100 5.1
A great amp with some notable musical skills, but it loses a star compared with its better-performing, better-specified rivals
