I have used What HiFi quite a bit for recommendations. I bought a Panasonic P42GT50 TV and DMP-BDT500 Blueray earlier this year. Like many others I felt the sound good do with a boost. However, I don't want to stream music and really didn't want to spend £1,000-£1,200 for a soundbar/sub option. I had wired up my Hi-Fi for films but don't use that option and just wanted an option to improve the quality of tv sound only. Despite the 3-star review, which initially put me off, I went with this option. I have to say I like the convenience of the speaker sitting underneath the TV. It does improve the sound of the TV with a fuller projection of sound. I expect to use this each time I turn on the TV, which I'm not sure I would have done with the soundbar/sub option and of course it's almost a quarter of the price. If you have a Hi-Fi for listening to music I think this does a great job improving you TV.
Better off with something else.

A superb budget tablet that, while not flawless, shows some of its pricier competition how it’s done
This Bose is tiny, but its warm, rich bassy sound is music to our ears
The Panasonic WT600 is a very capable TV regardless of its futureproofing and 4K picture
