bought it mostly to play my ipod and it became a 2º system to my roksan K2 setup and wow this mini can sing... warm sound, lot of bass and perfect for my ipod touch and iphone 4. it gets hot yes but nobody listens to mp3 with a hand on the roth, right? i plugged my roksan K2 cd player and works great with lot of details like my roksan amp does... i dont know what the MP3 button is for, because mp3 i already have them played with the ipod plugged in (ipod button). the colour are lovely in red and the finishes are top notch so for 350 euros it cant go wrong and its a great buy if you are into mp3 world and less in CD or vinil (to bad it doesnt take phono source because i really wanted to hear my vinils on this little guy from roth!) - 5* under 400 euros.
Fantastic value and wonderful Hi-Fi sound. This is a great Amp/ipod dock.Even downloads sound good and with a CD player connected to the MC4 many off my CD's sound fantastic.
The sound is not overly warm and has a nice tone.Music is punchy, detailed and has just a hint of that valve magic.
My MC4 system:Mordaunt Short 916i,Cambrige Audio 640c CD player and an ipod touch.
A great basis for a second system and real world value for money.
It can get hot,it has a bulky power supply but the amp and remote are well made.
IF you shop around you can get some great deals on this unit making it even better value.
I think the Cocoon should be reliable,i have only had it a few months but it seems sturdy enough.
Check the ROTH out and do not ignore it because it is a bit of an oddball that runs hot.

If you want an affordable 8in tablet then this is worth a look – but there are too many flaws in its performance for us to really recommend it
A striking design with good ideas, but we’d expect far better for the money
This system that shows so much promise on paper, but fails to deliver in action. Frustrating
