just replaced my q acoustics 2020i with these, matched with rega brio r. it's early days but i love them. bigger step up over the 2020i's than i was expecting. same great timing/musicality but voices (particularly in tv/film) and high notes much clearer. i really like the bass, plenty for me even in bass heavy music. it blends in with the music rather than overpowers. ok maybe need a sub if into feeling explosions during action films, but i'm not.
so i was feeling these were a bit cold and lacking bass and not enjoying them as much as before, thought about changing but decided to playaround with positioning instead, moved further away from wall, angled inwards (toed) in a fair amount, my god they sound amazing. also im sure they sound better with the grills on. too forward and slightly too bright with them off. guess it depends on the room, i have wooden floors. also they sound really bad when cold, the house gets cold in the day as i work long hours, once they warm up they are delightly. just thought these findings might be useful to others.

Not necessarily, no.
Are standmounts by nature faster and more agile than their floorstanding counterparts?
