not sure if this is me being thick but with this cable would i be able to connect my laptop/pc headphone slot to my dac? the headphone slot says spdif on it. been using the usb connection up until now but ive just bought the musical fidelity m1 dac and i want to know if i can connect my laptop to it via coaxial. want to get the full 192khz signal.
It depends on the laptop/pc, but if it's a headphone socket any 'hidden' digital out is going to be optical, not electrical/coaxial. The M1 DAC has an optical input, so that'll be fine, and you'll need an optical cable with a mini-TOSlink plug at the computer end and a standard optical connector at the DAC end.
