Pioneer VSX-1018AH

Dropping it 1 star to 4 stars as there are newer models out etc seems fair enough, but the price has dropped somewhat for this amp since review. I can get it for £349 from my local dealer.Would this make it a 5 star amp again??

i have this amp and im well happy with it, takes a while to read and learn all of your settings, but worth the wait, SACD sounds very goog to.

heard the Pioneer VSX-1019AH-K  is getting RAVE reviews... i would like to see if its good enough to make the awards as it has taken several editor's awards from other recognizable websites...

With the awards Around the corner , it wouldn't be fair to keep pioneer out of this race because i am intending on buying whatever wins best mid-range a/v receiver right away.

I'm confused the review against comment says no up conversion but under the tech spec up conversion is included.  Does anyone know if it will or will not convert say my standard sky / xbox 360 to HDMI 1080p?

first, the review.. Wrong system review, this Pioneer Vsx 1018ah-k ,is not a THX Select 2 Plus system, I live in Canada and we have the vsx 1018ah-k model and the one with the THX Select 2 Plus feature : Pioneer Vsx-9130Txh model.  I own this system and I loved it, Lots of power and "clear" amazing sound for movies and music. I did want to get the Onkyo recievers ( sr 606, 806, 906 model ) but after i went out and try.,, and researched on this system ( Onkyo system tend to get very very very hot )(I touch the top of the reciever and I can't stand the heat )so i decided to go for this Pioneer,, Great job, Pioneer

It seems that the European version of the VSX 1018AH differs from the US version. The Euro version does have e.g. THX Select2 certifications, and S-Video inputs.

Ordered one today to replace my Marantz SR5600 which finally died after three repairs.
