Considering AirPlay seems to impose a low pass filter cutting frequencies above 16,500Htz completely, I can't imagine the audio from any "higher end" speakers being very pleasent at all.
I did an experiement with a spectrum analyzer and any audio with sounds above 16,500htz gets those frequencies completely, and cleanly chopped...
I don't think AirPlay is really designed to transmit anything like high-quality sound, so that renders kit like this a bit pointless...
