We didn't say it was a bad TV - 4 stars means good - just that there are some rivals that are even better. If your in-laws are happy with it, that's fine.
Im sorry but I do not think much of this review. My inlaws have this TV and it is fantastic with SD. HD is much less of an improvement but nevertheless a improvement.
I rarely write on sites like this but with this one I really feel that people should not be mislead like this.
