I don't need freesat, twin tuners or half the functionality this set has. In terms of picture quality alone how much better is it than the model below - the ST60B? I've seen the ST60B and was very impressed. Especially as in one store it's available for £600 and in the same store the GT60B is £1000.
We haven't tested the ST60 I'm afraid, but if you don't need all the other features you mention then it could be a good choice. The current range of Panasonic TVs have rarely disappointed.
Has anyone experienced any image issues with this (or rather, the 50inch version) tv?
Friend bought the GT60 & noted image movement issues - things he nor I have ever seen before. Examples include a scene in Star Trek where the bright white light panel on the ship creates blue & yellow images on the screen when you move your head (in effect, pan across the image). Also, on Eagle Eye there is a scene about 15 mins in where Shia LaBeouf goes in to a corridor & slouches on the floor - the 'light' coming through his legs/floor blurs creating a large white triangle. Worse is when there are moving panning shots - the background image appears to blur as if the image can't refresh quick enough.
Apologies for the vaguness of the comment - he's had an ISF guy out who said he couldn't see anything & reported back to the shop saying so!! (Hard to believe) & Panasonic haven't been great in the past for resolving product issues (he's awaiting there call).
Good spot, now corrected. And no, I'm afraid you don't get a free GT60
Tech Specs say no intergrated FreeSat tuner, but the write up suggests it does.
I believe it has a single digital tuner that covers FreeView and FreeSat both HD?
Do I get a free GT60B for spotting the error???

A great amp with some notable musical skills, but it loses a star compared with its better-performing, better-specified rivals
Another admirable and attractive soundbar from LG, pipped to that fifth star by fierce competition
The large screen and punchy picture are highly attractive for this price, but you’ll have to forego the smart features and Full HD resolution
