i bought the Pansonic DMR BWT720 which has a 1TB hard drive. It is my 4th Pansonic recorder and I only bought this because my other died in a flood. Its a doodle to use eg edit out adverts before archiving. If there is a clash between 3 programmes (2 Tuners) it looks for a later showing to resolve the conflict. Picture quality is fabulous as is sound quality. My son loves and its easy to connect via wifi. Panasonics are easy to set up and use. Tried to help my brother in Spain with his Samsung hard drive recorder, useability was a nightmare!
To me, the functionality on this device is the holy grail but I assume it's not a huge market because the othre big manufacturers aren't producing competative products which would mean Panasonic would have to improve on the usability stakes.
