I would consider it a good investment rather than overkill (depending on your saving from the original £2400!!)
I am using my KEF iQ9 5.1 Package which sound the best they've ever sounded with the 5008 (which I too got at a fab price), but am aiming for the KEF Q900 7.1 Package as soon as I can afford to do the amp (and my ears) justice. The addition of a BK Monolith + sub will just be the icing on my audio cake!!!!
I really cannot see what Onkyo can do with the new TX-NR5009 to make it so drastically better than the 5008 anyway (Let's hope I'm not proved wrong there!!)
P.S Just noticed the date of this post, but rather than delete shall post anyways.
There's a good deal on an Onkyo TX-NR5008. However, having a 3 x 4.3 meters room, I was planning on getting the B&W 605 Theatre. Is coupling this speaker package with the Onkyo amplifier overkill, or would it be considered as a good investment if i need to upgrade my setup at a later stage?
