Also, can you please include this on all future reviews as its something thats of interest to a lot of consumers now given utility price increases and green concerns.
Having read & looked & read some more & then listened I have after a few years of being a Sony LCD man (with the clouding to boot on my 40W2000) now plumped for the LG 50PK990 Plasma... Reason being it had very good review at 1800 and 1200 (when priced dropped) and has all the features I will need for the next couple of years at least !
I am not a 3D punter yet and having had the very nice Toshiba 46XF355D for last 3 years (the one with the thin bezel) I wanted a nice classy looking well rated performer for SKY HD and Blu Ray + PS3 Gaming.
Picture is the be all requirement of mine for this TV and so I plumped for this Plasma purely for the superior position they hold generally over LCD/LED unless you spend upwards of 2000 on LCD/LED which would lead you in to the blow away arms of the the Kuro sets anyway !!!
I can now pick this up for 775 !!!!!! Bargain or what ?????? it ended up being a no brainer but still I enjoyed reading up on the TV even after my order was placed as it gave me some sort of virtual back slapping for a decision well made...
No doubt in 2 years or so I will be looking for a '3D/4D virtual contact lense' but for now and to save 200 on the 50PX990 (new 3D set) while getting a better panel all round it looks like Christmas has come late in this house... have an LG New Year !

Power consumption and a 'green' rating are something we're definitely considering for the future.
Yes, padawan, as Clare has explained in response to your enquiry on another TV.
Andrew what is the wattage of this tv?

LG never seems to learn the lesson from WHFSV team; improve, improve the blacks.
Just seen this one for £1174.46 free delivery - has anyone had any experience of this retailer?

padawan, i was in Currys today and the only LG for a grand was the PK350 model not the PK990
Just found this for 1251 with a quick google. Are any of the LG full LED screens going to be reviewed anytime soon?
Is this screen calibrated as part of your review?
