The hard drive as mentioned here was that fitted at the time of the test.
Naim has recently announced that current production HDX and UnitiServe units fitted with conventional hard drives – as opposed to the SSD variants – are now being supplied with 2TB drives onboard.
Thanks for that insight Andrew. Now I am certainly interested in the HDX. For someone who is about to embark on Hi End audio library solution who also wishes to purchase music as opposed to just streaming music, the system will need to have a certain amount of future proofing. I want to 'stream' to discover music and 'store' to keep music, but I don't want to buy an array of other electronic devices just to do that, simplicity is the key and now I think the HDX might just have convinced me to take the plunge. Now if it just had the superb interface of the Sooloos. Lol, just kidding.
I have one point to make about the HDX and for other high end products such as the Meridian Sooloos and in general. Sorry cant take them seriously at this price with such a woefully small hard drive, surely today they should be thinking at least 2TB as its designed specifically to play highest res files and especially as hard drives are so cheap these days. I know one can purchas a NAS but really who wants to go out and have to buy other electronic devices with all the wires etc, just to store your music. If spending so much money on a solution I would expect it to resolve the simple storage problem very disapointing all ready, untill that is addressed I would look elswhere as there are other that provide 1 or 2TB´s.

The Note 8.0 might have been a great tablet once, but now it looks outclassed and outdated
A classic example of style over substance. Given tweaks to the sound it could be far better, but that’s not to be for now
All style and little substance – the Pill isn’t talented enough to compete with more accomplished class rivals
