Lacks the excitement and dynamism of similarly priced leads

For

  • Give music space to breath
  • big bold sound

Against

  • Tendency to push vocals too hard

With its colourful PVC jacket and heavy-duty MK Toughplug, it's very hard to ignore The Big Red.

The eye-catching Ecosse cable is adept at giving music space to breathe, allowing vocals and instruments the chance to shine in their own right.

The Big Red also serves up a big, bold sound – but it still lacks the excitement and dynamism of similarly priced leads.

This mains cable also has a tendency to push vocals a little too hard and the musical arrangement isn't quite as well organised as it is with other cables we've tested.
