I think this amp is great, and now it can be had at £329 is a steal.
I demod a Pioneer VSX 920 and VSX 2020. Bass is soft on both of these in comparison to the Denon that has real solidity and impact. The 920 doesn't control the bass well in my opinion and sounded boomy with music. The Denon didn't seem to give any detail away to the 2020.
The Denon produces a great detailed and realistic cinematic sound, with sounds always seeming to move around you correctly, and a big soundstage and ambience.
Music it handles well also and I can honestly say with my Sonos it has the same detail as an Arcam CD player and Yamaha RXV 3900 combo I demod, but with better bass solidity and a more exciting sound.
Yes, it's plastic, and for people doing complicated installs may not have all the inputs and bells and whistles, but in terms of sound it's great.
I've only had one issue, which may just be settings, but moving between menus it takes a couple of seconds to lock back onto the sound sometimes.
Well I do believe the 4 stars will create a great deal of comment and will really open a can of worms. I replaced my 1910 with the 1911 after an exhorbitant amount of research and testing against the Onkyo 608. Issues with the Onkyo and service worried me - but side to side tests convinced me to go with the Denon. Yes the on screen display is a bit tacky - and the remote could be better - but what an amp!!!

Have to say I love my 1911 - the sound is great
do wish the on screen display was a bit better and I can't get my wii to work through it
