Denon AK-HM100

A decent stab, but there are better HDMI cables about that will make a lesser dent on your budget

Denon joins the band of electronics manufacturers (Naim, Cyrus, Meridian...) offering cables as well as kit.
At first glance this is a decent HDMI cable. The fast action of House of the Flying Daggers shows a solid, sharp picture that's stable even when pushed.
But compared to others – hello, QED – bright reds and greens do lack a little life. The level of detail on display could be better, while sonically it's a touch bright too, meaning this can't quite commandeer a fourth star.
