Just wondering since WhatHiFi has tested both the Zensor 1 5.1 and Zensor 5 5.1 packages, doesn't the Vokal blend better with the 5 package rather than the 1's - meaning to say it doesn't overwhelm the smaller 1 speakers?
Hi Sadiq. THe Vokal works really well with both packages. If you use your home cinema amp to calibrate speaker levels etc, there should be no danger of the Vokal overwhelming the Zensor 1s.
Thanks for the response, its much appreciated. If you could comment on using the Yamaha Aventage A1030 to pair with the Zensor 1 5.1 package (does it pair well sound wise in your opinion,? will it sufficiently run the system - since Dali website states the speakers are 6 ohm nominal ?) or if your personal choice would be another brand/model to pair with that specific speaker package?
I'd be very grateful. Thanks
The 1030 is probably overkill for the Dali package. We'd recommend spending at least twice as much on the speakers with this amp. If you want to stick with the Zensor 1 5.1 something like Sony's STR-DN1040 would make more sense.
I tempted to buy a set of these to use with my new Pioneer SC LX57. I have limited space so the wall mounting facility is useful too. I have a set of B&W DM303 on stands which I use as my main stereo speakers currently. Would they match up these as part of a 7.1 set-up (I could use the extra pair as high L/R), or should I upgrade the main speakers, or use the Dali Zensor 1 and settle for 5.1? Thanks
The E-12F sub was included in the award winning Zensor 5 last year. If they do keep it with the Zensor 1 set, it would make sense to add a pair (space providing) of Zensor 5 floorstandres to make up a really good 7.1 package... With the E12F subwoofer that is.
Thanks Andy. Is it worth waiting for the E-9F or would the E-12F actually offer an upgrade for this package?
As we haven't tested the E-12F with the Zensor 1s I can't comment on that, or how it integrates with the satellite speakers. What I can say is the E-9F works superbly in this package.
This package doesn't seem to be out yet as the E9-F sub is nowhere to be found. The dali site makes no mention of it and none of the retailers are selling it. The packages I've found are all with the e-12F, and are mostly for £1000K+.
We've just been told that Dali has run out of stock of the E9-F sub and is working hard to get more into the UK. Richer Sounds and other retailers are selling the package with the E-12F, but we've been in touch with Dali to get an update on the supply situation. I'm afraid you may have to be a little patient if you want the E-9F, but unfortunately this is beyond our control. We are assured there will be more supply of the E9-F in due course.

A seriously talented performer that has a few design issues
This is a top-notch surround package for the money. It’s a worthy alternative to the award-winning KEF R100 5.1
A great amp with some notable musical skills, but it loses a star compared with its better-performing, better-specified rivals
