I recently received the D-Link Boxee Box for Christmas. On first impressions it seems great, a little clunky but fine.
However, when I started searching the available apps I noticed that they are all from the U.S. with a notable exception of BBC iPlayer. This is annoying but certainly was not enough for me to write it off.
Then I searched using the browser app for 4OD, LoveFilm, TV Catchup, in fact pretty much all of the websites I currently use to stream tv on my PC.
Unfortunately the device needs Flash and since it appears D-Link and the Boxee developers have not and will not sort this out (from looking on forum threads this seems to be a problem that has existed for more than a year) none of these websites stream anything.
So basically this box can access your media in much the same way as your computer can but not much else. At least if you are in the UK.
I would urge you not to waste your money and don't be fooled (like I was) by its media machine talking up its capabilities.
