Don't see how that review is justfied. I made my own Prelude cable up, with inferior plugs to the manufacturer yet it sounds excellent. It replaced a VDH cable that lacked the bass weight and detail this cable produces. I tried one of the much vaunted Atlas cables in place of the VDH and that was horrific. It sucked all the bass and attack out of the system and gave it a harsh, over bright tone. I would recommend the Prelude over either of those - at any price. The VDH in fact cost double the Preludes retail...
The cable is being used between pre and power, and as such is critical in deteriming the systems sound. It can't hide there, as it would between sources and amp, and I wonder if that was where it was tried during the review.?

Not so very far from the last word in external digital-to-analogue converters
The gorgeous retro design is hard to resist, but the TEAC fails to deliver an engaging and musical performance at this price
