Very impressed by the dock. All cd's were ripped at the highest possible quality through itunes and the dock really reflects this. It goes really well with my Cyrus kit. The use of the best qaulity interconnects is recommended.
A little disappointed by the remote. Having said that - it does the trick.
Finally, after years of using a Kensington ipod dock, im really glad I took the opportunity to upgarde. The ir dock works well with both my 5th and 7th generation ipod classic.
The Arcam ipod dock is well worth the money!
I bought this Arcam irdock to play my 5th gen (late2006) iPod through my Nad receiver and Tannoy Floor standers. Nothing worked. I had the same problem with the Pure i20. Arcam after sales/support were next to useless. I would NOT recommend this product,as a result of my experience.
Any other ideas, rather than getting a new iPod?
Just bought one of these and am delighted with it. I recently took the plunge and moved all my music onto iTunes and an IPod Classic. I have been using a Cambridge £20 dock from Richer Sounds but whilst that was very good value for money there was a clear drop in quality from CD. This Arcam irDock has overcome that completely and I'd say equals my CD player if not betters. I'm using it with a Cambridge Azur 640A Amp and Dali Lektor 2 speakers.
I'd recommend this to anyone; best £150 ive spent in a long time.
Not AFAIK, no.
Does it have digital out like the Wadia 170i ipod dock?
An upgrade in sound quality compared to the original rdock which was a pleasant and very welcome surprise...(I also replaced the figure of 8 mains cable with a £35 Merlin cable which gives the sound more focus)
The remote is small but does the job well giving you in depth control of your ipod menus and settings...
Probably the best bit of kit I've bought for some time. My system comprises Quad 99 pre-amp/909
power amp, PMC DB1i speakers and Naim CD5x; I was thinking of adding a Brennan JB7 music server but this is out of stock until at least the end of March, so what better than the irDock plus my iPod touch - perfect.
The irDock might seem a bit expensive at £150, but it delivers on all counts, plus it come with a great remote - what more can I say?

I use this dock with my iPhone 3Gs and don't experience interference, even without turning flight mode on.

A classic example of style over substance. Given tweaks to the sound it could be far better, but that’s not to be for now
All style and little substance – the Pill isn’t talented enough to compete with more accomplished class rivals
The picture doesn’t have the impact of the top 4K TVs, but it’s still a fantastic watch
