An unconvincing set of buds that don't come close to justifying their price-tag

If Apple's iPods have an Achilles Heel, it's the headphones that come with each player.

We've always suggested you upgrade to get the most from its machines. Apple does have a pricier in-ear option, but are they up to scratch?

These buds feature an in-line remote control and mic, which is compatible with the Apple iPod Touch (2nd gen), nano (4th gen) and new, 3rd gen iPod Shuffle.

To their credit, these headphones feel comfortable and fit securely. Spin some music and they don't overpower you with bass or tinny treble. But that's about it.

Bass is poorly defined and the overall presentation lacks focus and dynamics. At this price, you can get much better for your money.
