On one thing the reviewer is right: these speakers are special! And not your average speaker of one of the big names. Using these Jordan drivers together with a nice hf driver is a well known audiophile and price winning combination. But they are very revealing, so make sure the rest of your equipment can match the quality of the Jordans. These drivers are used in much more expensive speakers. And if you think I'm wrong, think again. It means that men like Ted Jordan, Tom Evans and Nelson Pass are wrong as well... So don't take this review for granted and go listen to these speakers if you are in the market. And there's a second thing the reviewer is right about: these speakers are not for everybody, but they deserve a hell of a lot more than 3 stars!
I have now found out that unfortunately the bass improved VSx speakers both WHF & HFN reviewed were fitted with Indian EADS inferior made drivers and compensation applied to correct was not successful. Fortunately I have a pair with the Swedish made Jordan Watts drivers and they are simply superb. however I have now switched in the adjustable treble unit. The original HFN review gave these speakers a 85% sound quality rating also praised by Hi-Fi Choice and this was before cabinet TLS improvement.
I do not recognise What Hi-Fi? review of the Aurousal VSx transmission line speakers. I find them superb and probably the best value on the market. The Jordan drivers are full range and I do not find the tweeter is needed. They are very elegant to look at taking up little floor space being only 8" wide. I prefer them to many overpriced speakers especially from PMC , B& W, KEF and Monitor Audio. One Hi-Fi shop manager visited my Home and he agrees that soprano voice is clearer on the Aurousal VSx than any of the well known brands he stocks. In this instance take no notice of the What Hi-Fi ? review and try and audition these fine speakers for yourself, you will not be disappointed.

A seriously talented performer that has a few design issues
This is a top-notch surround package for the money. It’s a worthy alternative to the award-winning KEF R100 5.1
A great amp with some notable musical skills, but it loses a star compared with its better-performing, better-specified rivals
