Sound quality is good (certainly clearer than my existing FM radio), but reception using the supplied window aerial isn't brilliant.
I travel close to Crystal Palace NTL transmitter every day and I lose DAB reception completely several times (FM radio becomes unusable at the same points too). There are too many wires really, and the unit is much larger than it really needs to be - particularly if it is going to be used as a portable DAB radio. At this size, it could have come with a built in speaker ! I expected the supplied cables to be gold plated (after all, this is supposed to be a quality product) but they aren't. Using the device as a DAB to FM transmitter is very poor where I live - in London it is very difficult finding any part of the spectrum where there is adequate bandwidth, and this coupled with the poor FM tuner in my car left me with no choice but to fit an auxiliary plug to the sound system - yet more cables....
It is nice having a pause button, but it would have been nice to have a fast forward too, or a means of gradually catching up to the live broadcast.
The device is capable of storing about five minutes only – far less than some of the other Pure DAB devices,.
Battery life (on AA) is poor.
I consider this an interesting product, but rather expensive for what it is.
