Big Aura, I've checked with our marketing dept and the official answer is:
"Haymarket will assume that your latest submission of personal data via a Haymarket website or data capture form indicates, for the time being, your consent to receive marketing by us. You can opt out at any time."
As it says on the Sky competition entry page:
"You can opt-out at ANY time using the contact details in our privacy policy should you not enjoy the great offers we have for you and we will NOT contact you again until you ask us to do so."
Alternatively, you can also opt-out by emailing:
datacontroller@haymarket.com
In order to enter the competition I have to agree to Haymarket's Ts & Cs.
One states: Haymarket may use the information you have provided to promote the products and services of Haymarket or others.
Another provides: Occasionally, we may share your contact information with carefully selected third party companies whose products and services we feel may be of interest to you. We will keep these offers relevant to your interests. It's easy to unsubscribe from any email or mobile messages you no longer want. (see below).
The competition itself doesn't have a clear "opt out" of spam button, so am I subjecting myself to spam, or do my "please don't bother me" preferences that are already registered with Haymarket override this?
Cheers
ALL I CAN SAY AMAZING!!
Yes, you need to click on the 'WIN a 3DTV and Sky+ HD' link top right, under the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision logo.
good luck finding the comp as well, its sky ads all the way other than a teeny-tiny button top right. Any-hoo, hopefully it plays normal tele as well.
I saw the 3D demonstration at the Ryder Cup, including the Alice In Wonderland clip. It is simply awesome. It was showcased on a LG tele too. It is not so much a step above HD but rather a whole step ladder above.
