Hello, and welcome to the new online home of What Hi-fi? Sound and Vision, the world's bestselling home entertainment buyer's guide.

Our new website is designed to deliver all the news, reviews, advice, opinions and discussions you need to help you buy the very best hi-fi, home cinema, TV or MP3 products for your money – and make the most of them once you get them home.

Here's a quick overview of what you can find on the new-look whathifi.com.

Just one click away from a Best Buy
Our new Best Buys section is the ideal place to start your search for the ideal home entertainment system. It offers quick links to all our current favourites  - from the largest home cinema package to the smallest MP3 player - plus a rundown of our 2007 Award winners.

We've also put together some hi-fi and home cinema systems to suit different budgets, plus every Best Buy comes with 'Now Add These' information to further help build your music or movie set-up.

Of course, not every Best Buy will be the exact product to suit you and your system, so each one also offers "Also Consider' suggestions. Plus, of course, you can search a much, much longer list of reviews...

More than 1000 product reviews
Our Reviews section has launched with test results for 1000+ current products –  from the latest flatscreen TV tests to high-end hi-fi, Blu-ray players, systems, accessories and much more.

Alongside our familiar system of star ratings, for/against/verdict overview and the test itself, you'll find pictures of the product, plus key tech-specs.

Many reviews will appear before they are published in What Hi-fi? Sound and Vision magazine – for example, we launch with exclusive reviews of Panasonic's TH-46PZ81 Freesat flatscreen TV; Vita Audio's R4 CD/DAB system; Sony's VAIO TP2 Media Center PC and more.

Have your say!
You also have the opportunity to write your own product reviews, sharing your experiences - good and bad - to help potential buyers get an even better idea of each product.

As now, you can comment on news and blogs, plus of course discuss the issues of the day - and get answers to your pressing technical and buying questions - in our thriving Forums.

You'll also be able to easily email friends with links to news and reviews from the site itself – just look out for the 'Email Article' button.

Step-by-step advice
As well as the sterling advice you can pick up on the Forums, we've introduced a new feature to help you get the very best from your home entertainment systems.

Hit the 'How To' tab for simple, step-by-step video guides covering a range of subjects.

We've launched with four hot topics - including two tackling different aspects of the joy that is setting up your surround sound receiver - and will be adding more every week, along with text guides.

Please let us know which burning issues you'd like us to cover!

More news and opinions

We've broken a number of news exclusives already this year, and will continue to bring you the stories that count - first.

We kick off today with some exclusive updates from B&W, Classe and Living Control, and you can expect more stories, previews and show reports from our globe-trotting news team every day.

We'll also be bringing you inside information, opinions and insight in our new dedicated blogs channel - including a regular blog updating you with all the kit we've got into test and when we expect to bring your our verdicts.

Improved search - with even more on the way
With so much on the site, we figured you'd appreciate a better search system - so that's what you've got. Results are sorted into sections, and easily able to be refined further - taking you to what you're looking for faster than before.

And that's just the start - we're working on an advanced filtering system that'll allow you to search by product detail, so you can refine your search by as little as a single tech-spec or feature. That should be with you in time for the pre-Christmas buying frenzy!

Take a look inside our test rooms
Finally, our new About Us section aims to tell you everything you need to know about the world of What Hi-fi? Sound and Vision.

You'll be able to see where we work, see some of our reference kit (even our
stockroom!), and get previews of the current issues of the main magazine and Ultimate Guides.

And that's an important, last point to make: today we have launched a huge new website, but that's just the beginning of even bigger and better things for the What Hi-fi? Sound and Vision family.

Our Show has a new, high-tech home (see here); we've got all-new Ultimate Guides coming up (look out for High-end Hi-fi and Home Cinema, plus an indispensable Blu-ray special); more overseas editions (hello to our newest colleagues in China) and an updated look to the main magazine going into 2009.

As ever, please let us know your views on everything we're doing, either via the comments and Forums online, or the Contact Us tab below. Help us to help you even more!

The new layout will take us all some time to get used to - and we'll be tweaking it based on your feedback, so it's not set in stone!
