You can choose the music you wish to wake up to with the Roberts Sound 40 clock radio, as it's equipped with a CD player, DAB/FM radio and an aux input for hooking up your MP3 player.

It comes with an SD card slot, a blue backlit display that can be dimmed while you're sleeping, an easy-to-navigate menu system, remote control, headphone socket, AC adaptor and automatic clock set.

Various alarm modes and snooze options are included, the stereo speakers are built in, and a CD/SD bookmark function remembers the last piece of music played, so you can turn the unit off at night and then pick up where you left off the following morning when it comes back on.

Available in black or silver, the Roberts Sound 40 costs £100.
