Have you just bought a fantastic new piece of hi-fi or home cinema kit? Or watched a stunning new Blu-ray disc? Well here's your chance to vote for our special Readers' Award in the 2008 What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Awards.

You can nominate any piece of hardware, software that's tested your system to the max (including Blu-ray discs, CDs, DVDs and games), or a particular technology that's impressed you.

Just add your choice (only one per person) by posting a reply to this thread on our Forums, and then at the end of August we'll launch a dedicated Awards 2008 microsite where you'll be able to vote again for one of the shortlisted items.

The winner will be announced at the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Awards ceremony at The Dorchester hotel in Park Lane, London on the night of September 24th.

What's more, we'll be giving away two tickets to the prestigious Awards ceremony on the night of September 24th. Anyone who votes for the winning product will have their name put in the hat, and one lucky winner will be allocated the two free tickets for a night to remember!

So get voting now, post your nomination here and have your say in the 2008 What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Awards.

PLEASE WHATHIFI & READERS -SAMSUNG AVR 720 AV RECEIVER,has got all the specs, loud, powerful, very good looking.WILL BLOW U AWAY

For me PS3, as it's really a value for the money. Superp gaming machine and also a very nice dvd/blueray player, but average CD/SACD player. All in one machine, even mp3s and browsing the internet and watching youtube videos is possible.

PS3 for me. Such a good all rounder. Great Blu Ray player, games machine, media player in general. Always gives my TV and sound sytem a good run through.

Xbox 360 Elite -

Xbox Live surely is the most entertaining, interactive / download service available.

Halo 3 has been the best online game with the best visuals.

PS3 - no contest!

Squeezebox,  its completely transformed the way I listen to music, and the amount of music I listen to.

ATC SCM11...a speaker that I am in full agreement with the review team!! Nuff said...

test vote

Touch call between the PS3 and the Onkyo 875.

The PS3 is a one-stop-shop for all my gaming and movie needs, but it is sadly let down by the annoying fan noise.

I have to go for the Onkyo 875. Its just an incredible piece of kit which is the heart of my set-up. Its the one bit of kit that I simply couldn't do without!

As it says you can vote for Games, I'm voting for Halo 3 (Xbox 360). I know it's a What Hi Fi site, but for technical achievement I'm not going to say the PS3 or Blu Ray as both are disappointing. PS3 games are rubbish, and Blu Ray drives are £129, so what's the point ?!

So Halo 3 . As far as game development has gone Halo 3 introduced two key features for me that are untouchable. First there was "Forge" a realtime map editing feature that meant you can redesign mapsobjects in real time and change every aspect of the game while everyone is playing. Then there is the replay functions that worked on Online matches and the 4 player (Over LIVE) Co-Op as well. This made gaming more like TV and allowed you to fully experience a game you have played and enjoy every match with your friends rather than just moving to the next....revolutionary ! Gaming and TV as one !

The new version of the Logitech Squeezebox. Finally the perfect way to stream music from PC to Hi-Fi.

My vote has to go to the Arcam CD73T. It's a bit of an oldie now, but one of the finest sub-£600 players for all-round sonic ability.

It's always been my view that good speakers are the heart and soul of a system. I have to work with a limited budget and would nominate the latest KEF iQ5SE's Simply brilliant floorstanders for the money.

every seem to be talking about ONKYO when it come to av receivers..Has anyone  reviewed samsung avr 720.i have one and i think it has be underestimated.please if anyone has bought one lately, please let support this AV receiver to win an award.

thanks

SONY STR-DG820

Pure pleasure!!!

Philips 32PFL9632D... Sleek, understated styling and offers detailed images. It's so good with strong SD signals that I might not leave my flat when I have Sky HD installed next week. Finally, the ambilight feature is a real bonus for films ; )

Beyond doubt, it has to be the PS3. The most copmplete, future proofed piece of electronics in my home setup. It does 99% of what I want and does it brilliantly. No other item is so accomplished and such a jack of all trades, Master of all Smile

PS3 for me too.

The Panasonic TX-26LXD70 is brilliant.

PS3 without a doubt. Absolute winner.

panasonic th37px80, availible now for a touch over 500 notes inc 5yr warrenty......frankly £ for £ it blows away the competition...

also its screen size and ability with SD material brings plasma technology to an even bigger audience...

Airfoil.  Get what's on your computer, on your stereo.  I wish I'd written it.

PS3 for sure.

Panasonic BD50 Blu Ray player, brilliant when couplied with my Onkyo SR605, True HD sound and great 1080p video

Ian Jackson

Timbalands SHOCK VALUE - an amazing album!

Close call between my Pany 42PZ85 (good with SD and blows your mind with HD) and the PS3. But I think the PS3 is an excellent piece of kit. Stunning with full HD games like GT5, dvd's look fantastic upscaled through it and Blu Ray's are absolutely stunning. So the PS3 gets my vote.

COD4

Alessandro MS1 headphones, amazing headphones for the money, the new king on the block

PS3 due to it being an all in one box of tricks, it ticks so many boxes for a very reasonable price.
