Steve's Hi-Fi in Hastings closes down

27 Jun 2012

We're saddened to report that Steve's Hi-Fi in Hastings has been forced to close due to vandalism.

In a statement on its website, the shop's owner says: "It is with great regret that I must announce that Steve's Hi-Fi is closing down with immediate effect.

"Vandalism in the flats above the shop has caused the premises, together with all the stock and and servicing equipment, to be ruined due to severe flooding."

Anyone wishing to contact the store can call 01424 444023 or 07508 624067.

Steve gave us tremendous service in our journey into proper hi-fi. We have enjoyed ten years of excellent listening thanks to him. Our Thorens turntable was damaged in transit when we moved down to Bath in 2007. I rang Steve and he had a spare inner platter which he kindly installed for next to nothing.

His shop was a lighthouse of generosity , grace and good taste.

A very sad thing to find out,I always found Steve had time to demonstrate and talk about everything to do with HIFI.He was a real breath of fresh air in a 'take it or leave it'retail world. He will be sadly missed by all of his customers

Very sad indeed. My thoughts go out to everyone at Steve's HiFi. A great shop and a great contributor to the forum here. A sad loss.

Very sad.

As if the current economic situation were not enough of a burden.
