SHOW NEWS: Humax Foxsat-HDR Freesat PVR goes on sale mid-November for £299

More details have emerged of the Humax Foxsat-HDR Freesat personal video recorder, which was exclusively unveiled today at the What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision Show. It goes on sale in the UK mid-November for £299.
It can record up to 80 hours of high-definition content, or 200 hours of standard-definition material, on its 320GB hard drive.
There are some nifty functions on the eight-day electronic programme guide. Select a BBC or ITV programme to record in standard-definition and the EPG will flag up if it's available on HD too. And if any of your recordings clash, it will tell you if one of the programmes is broadcast at an alternative time.
Users can also search for particular types of programme using the 'Find' function, and fast forward the EPG by two hours or two days at the click of a button.
So what about ITV HD via the red button, you ask? Well, if you select a programme to record on ITV HD, the Humax will automatically select the red button stream when the recording starts. You don't need to do it yourself.
An ethernet socket on the back of the unit could be used for a future upgrade to provide compatibility with the BBC iPlayer, says a Humax spokesman.

I can’t find this box anywhere. Does anyone know where it’s instock? I found this site http://www.humaxfoxsat.co.uk/ that lists Dixons, Argos, etc but it says they are all out of stock. I signed up for email alerts so hoping that stock will arrive soon cause I’ve got the money to spend, I just can’t buy one!!
Would love to get hold of this...what about the LNB consideration though? I bought the dish and box as a package and it's a single LNB that's been put up...fine for now but will a PVR need more feeds to record hence I'll need to upgrade the dish and rewire more cables?
I may be wrong, but I've seen some details of this on the Humax website and it seemed to be saying that you could only record 2 programmes simultaneously if they were in the same group.Otherwise you would need 2 satellite dishes.Sounds crazy, I know, so maybe I'm wrong.
I'm thinking of buying this Humax.
Does anyone know exactly how HDCP works. From things i've read my understanding is that it is supposed to stop anyone recording a broadcast in HD & films shown on TV in HD.
The HDMI cables carry the signal & The signal is decoded at the end of the run, by the TV, which means that recorders in between can't record the broadcast.
At least thats how i've interpreted what i've seen.
Maybe it isn't working in the UK yet.
IF it isn't but is on the way,i imagine that will be the end of recorders,at least for HD.
Anyone know.I don't want to spend £300 on something that is going to be obsolete next year.
Things can only get better from now on. Roll on the big guns.
at last something i can record hd onto, as the one who has to be obeyed can now watch whatever she wishes, and hey ho so can i, bring on the football and roll out the beer.
