Sennheiser opens up its 200 series with new HD 238 Precision
13 Aug 2009
Described as "the perfect solution for very high-quality replay from anything with a 3.5mm jack socket," this is the new HD238 Precision from Sennheiser, the first open-back model in the company's 200 series.

Sennheiser HD 238 Precision
Designed for home or mobile use. though obviously not in noisy environments or where sound leakage is a problem, they sell for £70, weigh just 286g, and combine a compact, fold-flat design with a carrying pouch.
They have soft, flat ear-pads and adjustable ear-cups for comfort, the pads can be exchanged for durability, and there's a single-side cable to avoid tangles.

The only complain about these sennheisers is somehow bright treble which should be cleaner.
The bass is really natural , I enjoy it , and midband sounds clear and smooth that result in lovely sound, somehow forgiving about the treble.
And they are perfectly comfortable, but don't expect much noise cancelling effect.
Overall I like them.
Just bought one of those cans, but they don't sound as great as expected. 99€ are a lot of money for such cans, but I still prefere my older Senn 212Pro, 2 times cheaper but great sound for portable or hifi use.
