It's a six-strong line-up, comprising a CD player, integrated amplifier, a pair of pre-amplifiers and a couple of power amps.
£695 will buy you the RCD-1520 CD player. It's the first Rotel spinner to utilise Wolfson DACs, and it's the company's first slot loader – but the insistence on a minimum of surface-mounted components and a sizeable toroidal transformer is classic Rotel.
The RA-1520 integrated amplifier costs the same £695. It's a 60 watts per channel design, and features a moving magnet phono stage - vinyl fanciers are as tenacious as ever, after all.
Two preamps and power ampsThe £495 RC-1550 pre-amplifier is informed by the RA-1520's design. It's intended to see service alongside the £695 RB-1552 power amplifier, which develops 100 watts per channel.
More after the break
The RC-1580 pre-amplifier (£995) is completely distinct from its sibling and, with the RB-1582 power amp (£1095) constitutes the top of the range.
All things being equal, we should receive our sample of the RA-1520 amplifier in time for a First Test to appear in the August issue of What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision that goes on sale July 1st.
